28 weeks tomorrow - Update

I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow with twin girls. They are fraternal and very active!  I had an u/s last night and Baby A is 2 lbs. 13 oz. and Baby B is 2 lbs. 11 oz.  Their heartbeats were good - 134 & 144 and they have lots of fluid around them.  They WERE in perfect position for delivery but they've decided to move around on me.  Baby A is now breech, her butt is sitting directly on my cervix and her head is in between my hipbone and ribs. and Baby B is now head down beside her sister.  I have terrible heartburn and today I've been timing contractions every 20min. They are like braxton hicks, but they are a little painful underneath my belly and in my back.  So I'm sitting and drinking lots of water to see if they go away or get closer.  I was induced with my 2 year old and I can't remember exactly how the contractions started out with my 6 year old.  Praying I'm not in labor!

I didn't know there was a difference in fraternal and identical when it came to delivery!  But it makes sense!  I'm with you on the bedrest thing, it would be impossible to be on complete bedrest.  I sit as much as possible, the house isn't like I like it and it's driving me crazy!  I have a 6 year old son, who's in school of course so that helps and I have a 2 year old daughter so I'm always up and down with her, but of course I know a 1 year old is a lot less independant than a 2 year old!  and my husband works night shift :(
I feel pretty good, other than nausasness and heartburn!  Sleeping still stinks! But we're almost done and then I'll miss having them in my belly! ha ha!
I hope your babies hang in there! Especially Baby B, I hope they don't have to come too early.  Good luck!!!

i didnt go to my doc yesterday because the contractions stopped....i have an u/s and ob appt on wed and i will def bring it up....most likely at my u/s they will check my cervix length (at 24 it was over 3cm and they were very happy with that)

ive been on bedrest since 15 weeks and its been tough...its impossible to be on complete bedrest (unless im in the hosp) because i have a 1 year old to take care of and a husband who is tired from working 60+ hours a week....its frustrating

i think fraternal twins can go to 38 weeks but since im having identical and one placenta supporting both babies ill most likely make it to 34-36 weeks but baby B has been smaller and has had less fluid so most likely he will be the cause of an early deliver

im having a c-section and getting my tubes done at the same time....ill be signing the papers for the tubal next week at my ob appt....i cant believe this is it

how are you feeling otherwise?

I saw on one of Dolphin's posts that you had contractions.  Did your Dr. check your cervix?and do that test to see if you might go into labor in the next 2 weeks?  Also, at my last appt., the Dr. checked my cervix again, he said he's going to every week now just to get an idea of when the babies might come.  But I'm 50% thinned so I'm on very moderate activity and I'm supposed to sit with my feet up a lot. No grocery shopping, etc. anything that I would be on my feet a lot.  He wants the pressure off of my cervix.  So maybe the same for you?

Hi fellow pregnant with twin Mom!
I was also having a lot of ligament and muscle stretching pain and cramping so the midwife at my drs office suggested a Baby Hugger for me, I just looked it up on ebay and found some new ones.  It's a heck of a thing but it really works.  It won't help with the one baby in your ribs but it may help with your back.  I don't have the back problem, except during the night but I agree with sleep not being easy.  I'm so tired all the time and dread going to bed because I know my back and pelvic bone is going to HURT!  I use a pillow in between my thighs/knees and it helps some but boy does that bone hurt when I get up in the night to pee!

i am also preg with twins but mine are identical twin boys...im almost 25 weeks along and i get those pains in my belly and i asked my doc about it and she said that with 2 babies your organs and belly stretch so much

one of my issues is that one baby enjoys my ribs and the other my sciatic nerve....trying to sleep is not an easy task anymore

Thanks! I couldn't remember, that went on for 3 1/2 hours though, I went to the dr yesterday, I was scheduled today (friday) but asked to come in a day early.  My cervix was fine, but I actually had an infection I didn't know I had and he said that that was most likely the cause for the contractions.  He did a test to see if I might go into labor early (within the next two weeks) and it came back negative. And also my glucose and iron came back good :)

It does not sound like you are in labor as of now. I know my doctor said if i have more then 4 contractions an hour to go in. The best thing you can do is drink water and lay on your left side.
