Baby Shower Story

I would love hear themes, stories, unique items at your baby shower or your favorite gifts or what you liked most about your baby shower.

Mine is this coming weekend and the invitations were designed by my hostess.  Really cute picture of the ultrasound with invitation information below it, his room is done in blues and browns with stars and so is the theme for the baby shower.  Can't wait.  I will post pic's as well but would love to hear your stories.

I had mine last week and my friend who hosted it did such a fantastic job.  I believe there was only 9 of us and that is including me.  I was quite happy with that, I was afraid I wasn't even going to to have that many show up.  We decorated lil onesies and they turned out so cute.  I got some really nice things and yes I will have to buy some things but not too much.  My first shower with my daughter was amazing.  I look back and really thank God that I had a shower like that with my daughter because I was so green and had no clue what to get.  This time around I know and I feel I can buy what is needed so I am not stressing about it.  So happy that the time is so close.  I went ahead and a bought a going home outfit the day after since I seen that I didn't get anything that would work as a going home outfit, ended up buying three outfits, LOL.  Now I just need to get some diapers, wipes, and formula and I should be set for a while at least.  I can't wait to decorate the nursery.  We are getting that ready in two weeks.  I am so excited!

I had my baby shower this past weekend. The theme was monkeys. My wonderful husband designed my invitations and even made the cake. He is so gosh darn creative. My mom and sis-in-law hosted the special day, but I have to say that it was my sis-in-law who put in the most work. My mom just let me use her house.

From the very beginning I was very stressed about the entire thing because my mom kept giving me a hard time about every aspect of what was happening. It became very annoying to the point where I didn't even want her involved or even use her house. But I got over it and pretty much ignored her.

My guest list was about 40 people and I had half RSVP, but sadly I only had about 13 show up. It was a beautiful day and I really appreciate those that did attend. They enjoyed all the games we played and their gifts that they won. The food was good and so many brought dishes to share.

Overall, I am disappointed that so many of my friends and family didn't show up (especially since I always show up for their events), but my baby shower turned out to be nice and enjoyable. I did get a lot of great things, but I have so much that I didn't get and will have to buy.
