Contractions. But nothing is happening. Normal??

I started getting contractions nov. 23rd. Went into the hospital on the 24th. My contractions were 4-8 mins apart and i was only 1 1/2 cm dilated. Sincr then ive been contracting everyday. As close as 3 mins apart for 2hrs. But then the either spread out or completely stop. Last night was the most unbearable of my contractions. They were as close to 4 mins apart for an hr then spread to 7 and then stopped. Is this normal? Im 37wks and 6 days.

I have been having the same thing since 35 weeks 5 days. I'm 38 weeks 6 days now. I was 1 cm when it started and 20% effaced. I'm now up to almost 4 cm and 60% effaced. Had my bloody show this morning. I am scheduled to be induced on Wednesday but really hoping she comes on her own. It is so frustrating and draining I hope yours don't last and the real thing comes soon  :)
