Im 39 weeks today and stuck @ 2cm with no thinning so my doctor did a little extra during the pelvic exam just to help the process along. I too dont want meds and have been told getting induced tends to be more difficult and a longer process. Im completely comfy but am anxious about going into labor. My husband is a tow driver so hes really busy right now so that doesn't help me when hes out.
It hurt when she checked to see if I was dilated that's why I ask maybe my doctor is just rough haha
I just had it done yesterday didn't hurt at all got a tiny cramp during but it took maybe 10 seconds
Ooh... my friend said the pain felt like a finger nail being seperately from your finger. Sighs* I just had the group b and gonorrhea test with a q tip and it killed.. now I'm rethinking it
It's not painful, just a little uncomfortable. My contractions did start , they just weren't strong enough for me to go to the hospital.
Is getting this done painful??
I'm supposed to have it done at my next appointment and I will look into it more too. I'm at an all natural crunchy birth center so I was surprised they did it. They explained that it is not really like induction because it won't work if your not ready, nothing will. They said that if your close, it *could* just tip you over.
If you don't want to you always have the right to refuse! Your body your baby!
Just do it :) itll posibly get your baby here faster :p sometimes it dont work though
