sweep?

So im 37 weeks n i have an aptment thursday n i was just wondering if other moms knew when you can get your membranes sweeped? :) i think imma ask to have it done

37 weeks is early for one. if its affective in can put you into labour  within 48hrs. so like mentioned a dr shouldn't do it till 39 wks or more. and they typically only try it to avoid a medical induction...a sweep is alittle less aggressive. they also look for cervical changes first. if your cervix is tight and firm there isn't a point because your body isnt ready. my midwife is doing one for me this weekend but ill be 39wks and 3day's and when she checked me last i was 80% effaced 1cm dilated and at -2 station...so hopefully there will be some more natural  changes before then. i have to be induced by 41 weeks so she trying to avoid a medical induction otherwise she wouldn't be doing it.

I asked my dr. Friday. He said not until im 39weeks. But that's my doctor. I'll be 39wks saturday. But you can always ask yours, and they will tell you what they think would be best for you.

I had it done only when my baby was late... but I think it depends on your doctor.
