UK mums - 12 week scan!

Hi ladies
Im going for my 12 week scan on 10th August. What all is involved aside from the scan itself?

My appointment is the 10th as well and im 13,weeks

The scan was about 15 mins. With waiting for blood test I was there a total of about 30 mins. They let me take my step sons in too, they loved it! Makes it all so real! Good luck with yours, let me know how you get on!

HI Danzipops, so we had our 12 week scan yesterday! Was amazing! They asked if I wanted them to check risk of downs, which I did so they measured the fluid on the neck. The baby was doing acrobatics! Could see the heart beating on the screen. Haha! They then sent me for a blood test to go with the neck measurement and I should hear back in the next 7 days or so They charge £5 for a scan picture.

Hi, I have mine tomorrow afternoon so will answer then! Think if you want them to check risk they measure the neck to assess if they need to do further tests but that is up to you. The main thing is to check the foetus is healthy and to estimate dates. You need to take your notes too.
