6 weeks pregnant and very low progesterone

Hello I am new to this website and community but I am hoping to get some advice. Anything that you can post would be so greatly appreciated.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor had me go for routine blood work on friday. Monday the results came back and they called me and told me that my progesterone levels were very low at a 8.18. I retested on Monday and Tuesday ( yesterday) they called and said that the result are not good and that the progesterone has actually lowered to a 6. I was told that this is very, very low and the baby is probably not viable. They sent me for an ultrasound and told me to be prepared because the probability that the baby is healthy or even alive is slim to none. I went fearing the worst but the ultrasound showed a healthy baby, sac and strong heartbeat of 125. I was crying and just thanking God for the good results. Now my doctor prescribed 200 progesterone tablets to take one at night. Have anyone had there progesterone that low and still had a healthy pregnancy? have the progesterone helped? My doctor told me that he still isn't convinced that the pregnancy is healthy. Any info would be great. Thank you in advance!

i havent had to use progesterone but i have read and heard many great stories about it....there are lots of women that have used it through the first trimester and have gone on to have healthy babies....i think your doc is a bit negative by telling you not to get your hopes up...i wouldnt tolerate that at all

I'm 7 weeks and my progesterone level was 13.8 so my doc put me on Crinone progesterone suppository gel at night. So far everything is good. I think the progesterone therapy helps a lot. Sounds like your baby is a fighter already! Hang in there and try to stay positive.

i have been on the med for 2 weeks! first blood test i was at ten ten days later 28! such a releif still taking the med till 11 weeks! seems to make me really boated though! im 8 wks 3 days

Hi, I am 7wks 3days preg. I had low progesterone it was at 18.8 and dropped to 12.0. My doc immediately put me on bedrest and 400mg progesterone 1morning 1night. In 5 days it shot up to 35.0 I am still on the meds and will be until I pass my 1st trimester. There is no need to worry just think positive. Think ALL positive thoughts!!!!
