Cant get the contractions to keep going...

Any suggestions..? I am 40 weeks 3 days pregnant. I have walked my butt off this last week off and one 2-4hrs at a time. During the walking I can get contractions to start and stay about 20mins apart, but nothing really more than that and if I decided to sit for a break- they stop. I've had a few contractions here and there when not doing much, but for the most part nothing.

Finally started to lose my mucus plug and was dilated 1cm at my 40 week appointment 12/30. I have tried walking, hot showers, lasers and massage on the ankles/accupuncture points, sex, exercise ball and still no baby.

I've pondered caster oil or Manzinilla herb (advice from my cousin's hispanic wife)

Thanks ladies... we're still working on things- I stopped trying and have been more relaxed today, but nesting-- vacuumed the whole house, swept and steam mopped the kitchen & bathroom, then did the dishes, took down the christmas tree... so still busy some what. No contractions- nothing. Hoping that one day soon, oops my water will just break and baby will be here soon.

i tried the breast pump lol...i dont think i did it long enough because i was scared and im still pregnant lol..i am now a true believer they will come when they want nothing you do will help if they just dont want to come out lol..the thing is i have been dilated to 4 fo a week and half and having contractrions you wouldthink she wanted to come out lol..but good luck caralea i hope you dont end up having a c section

I read that you can use a breast pump to stimulate your nipples and contractions will begin, but that they can be really strong so be careful. I hope labor comes soon for you!

because I had a prior c-section and now we're trying for a VBAC, they wont due to the risks... so baby and labor have to be on their own or it's back to the OR.

Girl i have done everything and i am stuck at 41/2 cen lol..my contractions get 3-5 mins apart and really strong and then about two to three hrs later they go away..and let me tell you i thought about doing the caster oil but i just dont think i can down it lol..sex is not working eaither all that does is make you sore..but my dr said sometimes people just get to a point to where they have to have a little potocin to help things along and it sounds like you may be one.. why dont you let them induce you since you are past your due date?
