How often are you seeing your OB, and what testing is being done

Question:

I am now at 32 weeks pregnant.  Last saw my OB doc two weeks ago (at 30 weeks - all going well, good fetal heart tones).  Since all is going well, he wanted to see me again in 4 weeks (at 34 weeks).  The only thing he has me do is check kick counts when I feel like it.

Curious to see what everyone else's schedule is like.  How often are you seeing your OB doctor?  What tests are they doing?

My next appointment is tomorrow for my 30 week check up. They will measure the babies growth and fetal movement. I cant wait to see my girls again! It's been only 2 weeks and I miss them like crazy.

Because of my gestational diabetes I have to go in once a week.  I get a u/s every week and they check her growth and for fetal movements.  They are toying with the idea of me coming in twice a week!

I know at 36 wks they'll check my iron levels (I'm also anemic) and I'm assuming GBS.

I've been seeing my OB every 2 weeks since i hit the 3rd trimester, around 28 weeks. I havent seen my OB in 3 though now because of vacation and at my last appt they did my glucose screening and a bunch of blood work. When is everyone having their next u/s? my doc told me she's going to have to come up with a reason to give me another one before she is born because of insurance, which is wierd because before we moved they had me automatically scheduled for one for around 34 weeks and it was standard for them and i have the same insurance..wierd

I go to my OB every 2 weeks since the start of the pregnancy because of the twins. Every 2 weeks they measure my cervix and every 4 weeks they check the cervix and measure the babies. Starting at 34 weeks I will go every week. I had my glucose checked at 28 weeks. I'm not sure if I will get the GBS test or the stress test as my doctor has not mentioned anything about it or any other types of testing. It would be nice to know though. I will ask next week at my 30 week appt. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!

I'm seeing my midwife every 2 weeks now as well. I should see her next week, but with it being a Holiday, she's out of town, and so my next appt is on Dec. 1st. I'll be 33 weeks, then I'll see her at 35wk and from 37wk on, I'll see her weekly until D-Day. I'm also getting the GBS test done somwhere around 35 weeks, like Spiket, I also have a friend that tested positive for it, and didn't get all of the antibiotics in during labor, and her little one spent a few extra days in NICU, so I recommend it. Our bodies have a way of fighting off infection that our babies can't yet, so just a thought. As far as exams go, I'll all for it once I'm 37 weeks, just to see if labor is impending, and to make sure she gets turned around. She's been in the breech position for the past few weeks, so I'm HOPING she flips soon, so I can go on with my natural birth plan. I'm not sure if/when I'll get a stress test, I think it depends on if I show any signs of preeclampsia, which so far all is good. :0)

I too am going every two weeks. My next appt is this coming Tuesday for my 34 week check up. I will be having the GBS as well I believe at 36 weeks and my OB said they would start checking my cervix. Can't believe I only have 6 weeks left.  I wish they would do another ultrasound so I can take a peek at her. My OB has an ultrasound room in his office.

So glad it's Friday and I get to sleep in tomorrow!  Exhaustion is setting in and I am now in bed by 8:00.

I'm also going to a birth center and have a midwife. I am now going every two weeks. She drew some blood at my last appointment to check my iron levels. I have a GBS test at 36 weeks and go to appointments every week after that point too...like the other ladies. My midwife does recommend getting the GBS and I just had a friend that was positive for it. She delivered to quickly to get the antibiotics and her little boy got the GBS and was in the NICU for a week. So, I'm doing that one just to ease my mind. I also have to be cleared by an OB at 36 weeks to deliver at the birthing center instead of the hospital. It's some law. They just make sure the baby is head down and that I don't have any obvious issues like placenta previa or anything. Other than that...It's a waiting game.

I am 34weeks, had an appointment today and the next one in 2 weeks. At that appointment I will have the GBS testing as well and other than that it will switch to 1 week. I asked her today about wether or not she does cervix checks and she said no unless I ask. So we may just wing it untill D-day!!

My last appt was at 30 weeks, my next one is next week at 33 weeks, then 36, 38 and 40 weeks. I am having my baby at a birth centre and am getting looked after by a team of midwives so I don't have an OB. The next test I have is at 36 weeks for Group B Strep (GBS). Is everyone getting the GBS test?  I was told it's not compulsary and that results can change during pregnancy... eg you might be positive one week and negative the next, so testing is prob a waste of time??
