flu shot

Did anyone have any complications with the flu or H1N1 shots? Now that I'm in the second trimester I'm thinking about getting them.

Found the preservative free H1N1 (thimerosal-free, actually they add it into the process differently so it becomes so diluted at the end it's considered "free"). Went ahead & got it - I'll see if there is any reaction- so far baby is still kicking away in there & I'm feeling good (knock on wood), just trying to keep us healthy in the least invasive way possible.  I came down with plursia in my first pregnancy (fluid in lungs) so I would rather not experience a bad flu if possible.

Every type of flu shot has thermosil in it. Actually all shot do but the flu shots have the highest levels. THe US disreguards britains and others studies that were done in around the 80's I think that says it is harmful. Of course the only ones to do a study on the shots ar ethe people who are making them. No other complany can ahve access to do a study in the US on US drugs but done with the pharmacuticla companies. The GV has restricted all independant studies on shots. NOt fair at all!! Also vaccines are maed in three ways. with eggs, aborted fetus,( IE aborted babies:( ) and with something else I forget a t the moment. My step son has a very serious kidney dieseae and it can be terminal. He got the flu shot one time since he got sick and it was the only time he has been sick other then his diesease. Children's Hospital said he is the only patient that has not gone into kidney failure by one year and he is going on three years being sick. THey researched us and found out that he is the only patient that does nto get shots!!!! Also that the flu shot he was given at their request hurt him after they did some blood tests. Now they are doing a study in their own patients and asking each one if they get shots and the risks they have found. We will not be giving our new baby any shots at all. I cannot believe they require 36 shots by age 18 months now!! Lots of them are for STD's! And they came out with two more this year for them. THat is horrible to me. The one shot they give the baby in the hospital  can only be caught from sex ualy intercourse or using IV drugs. Liek anewborn baby needs that! OK not meaning to step on anyones toes and no offence to anyone! I just went in a rant. I know to many peole in my family that have been harmed by shots. INcluding me as I got a autoimmune disorder caused by my 12 years shots. Just scares me to death

I received the regular flu shot last month but not the H1N1. Just a sore arm that was it.

Saw a new dr in the practice today, second in charge, so very experienced & educated - she actually told me she didn't think any of their flu shots had mercury (thimerosal) in them- yet when she sent me to the nurse to get the shot I agained questioned it & found out it did!! So mad that she would just give me bad information to get me out the door- requesting not to see her again!! Turned down the shot & going to inquire at pharmacies about the thimerosal free shots.
Read one mother's comment online- she has an autistic son (after getting the shot while pregnant-who knows if there is a connection). She said she would rather have a child who had to be hospitalized every flu season than have to deal with the daily struggles of autism- hummm why take the chance?

I opted not to get it.  My dr. was opposed to me getting it...said it hadn't been tested properly and those advising pregnant women to get it were men who had major interest and money in pharmaceutical companies.

BUT....there are arguments on both sides...and it is really a personal choice.  Do what you feel is the right thing for you!

I didn't get it either. It hasn't been around long enough to be tested efficiently.

I did not get one casue this is the first shot that had no studies and when Obama had them make it he signed somethign that gave them full imunity if anyone had side effects. THat is the first shot that has been like that!

My local hospital posted a letter form the GV tha talked about neological side effects and deaths form it. Most all from healthy people. They had a 83% absentee rate from the emplayees after mandating they get the shot. THe other hospitals of the same owner chose not to mandate the rest of them to get it.

THe shots contain thermosile wwhich is 46.5% the weight of murcury and more deadly. THe us is the only ones that wil not do studies na take it out of the shots.
ALl other countries took it out when they had severe side effects in all minorities. It si outlawed there and I think should be here.

The state I live in has had 31 deaths from the shot. 2 children, healthy, 22 adults all healthy but one and 7 pregnant woman. It is not in the CDC reports as they investigated and said it was from other menas but my state did tests and said it was from the shot.

Just too scary from me! Also I know ther eis only one shot that pregnant woman can get.

I got both shots in my first trimester and had no complications.  Soreness in your arm is normal, but I didn't even have that :)

I think the shots are a good idea.
