Oh and don't forget your razor for under your arms!!!! Already went in for two nights and forgot mine, did not like it as my nightgowns are sleeveless.
nursing bras are nice too- remember your breasts will expand as milk comes in & need something on to hold the nursing pads
I am going to pack my bag this weekend. Thanks for reminding me about socks and slippers. I am also going to pack a couple of night gowns.
Don't forget socks &/or slippers & extra underwear (some people bleed a lot after labor- bring old ones & toss them!)
With my first I packed way too many clothes & ended up basically using my toiletries & cozy socks after labor & stayed in the hospital gown & robes that they provided because it was comfortable and easy to learn to nurse in. (plus I didn't have lots of laundry when I left 3 days later!)
Also oack plenty of quarters and dollars for the vending machines! DH was just in the hospital for 5 days and they had a ATM but I ran out of change for the vending machine, When I went into preterm labor last week we had lots packed and used it all just about. PLaces like the gift shop will not be open during the night to get change for a 5 or higher and I found that lots of them needed the correct change that late at night.
Wow!! That is a long list...thank you ladies! I know I want to breast feed so I know I will need the breastfeeding pads:-)
include breastfeeding pads...and bring extra burp cloths...i did NOT bring enough with DD!
they do...but the hospital pads are very bulky and in my experience they don't stay in place...i would recommend getting the highest absorbency version of the same brand you use for AF.
Are the maternity pads for bleeding and things like that? I always thought the hospital provided that.
