baby crying all night and sleeping during day

My little girl Asha 7 days old has day and night confused. No matter what I do, including making it bright and noisy for daytime sleeps and quiet and dark for night time, it has now been 7 nights straight where I have been awake all night with her and unable to settle. Anyone else having a similar problem? Its supposed to be common so I am trying to hang in there.

First off grats on your girls safe arrival!! :-) totally missed she'd arrived!! My son was similar in the first few days but I started to encourage him with awake time in the day and its slowly working. Also read that stroking, patting, tickling your baby while they feed in the day and doing nothing at night while you feed them helps them realise the difference. Good luck xx

My sis had that problem... her and her hubby had to take shifts staying up with the baby, she keeps warning me about how lots of newborns have this problem
