Brown Spotting at 39 weeks?

I am 39 weeks today (have induction scheduled June 28-29) and (sorry if TMI!) when I went to the bathroom this morning I had two big globs of brown/dark tan discharge on the toilet paper. I just went again (hey, we pregnant women pee A LOT haha) and there was nothing. I'm having cramping down low, but nothing I'd call a real labor contraction. I haven't had an exam since Wednesday, so I don't think the brownish discharge is from that. No sex since last week either. I've tried googling this and reading my baby books but nothing really addresses "brown" discharge. Could this be my mucus plug coming out? Anyone have any idea? I don't see the doctor again until Wed.

Thanks!  Heather

I can't tell if my little guy has dropped yet. I think I was carrying him low to begin with so it's hard to tell. I asked my OB on Wed and she said he's moving down but hadn't dropped (as of then). I think my bub likes it in there too - but he can't get too comfortable - he's being evicted June 28-29 (his due date) whether he likes it or not! :)
Good luck to you! Hopefully your little one will decide it's time to leave soon!

I would guess it is your mucus plug.

I am 40 weeks + 2 days and just started having more frequent "irregular" BH contractions - I am jealous ;-) I still have my mucus plug and the little one has not dropped yet. He likes it in there.
