Well ladies, I started having my bloody show/loss of mucous plug on a Wed, lost the last chunk of blood tinged mucous on a Sunday afternoon and delivered my little girl Monday evening. So I would say you could be a few days away. Also, my contractions did not feel anything like they say contractions should feel like. They weren't a tightening in the lower back that radiates to the lower abdomen nor were they a tightening from the top of the uterus that radiates to the bottom. My contractions were just like what you described Lissyloo except they lasted about a minute and were occurring in regular intervals. About 6-8 min apart at first and every 5 min when I decided to go to the hospital a few hours later. I started feeling like sharp pains in my lower abdomen at 6 am and waited it out until about 2 pm when I went to L&D. The contractions were not bad at all at this time but I figured I should go because they were so regular and my dr asked me not to wait since I wasn't feeling the severity of them at my last visit. The L&D nurse even tried telling me it was "just cramping" because I told her the pain was that low in my pelvis and that if I was in labor, it was very early labor and my dr would probably be sending me home. Well, my dr got there shortly after and checked me (I went from 2 cm at arrival to 4 cm in about an hour) and said I was definitely in active labor at that point. Had my daughter a few hours later. Anyhow, the point to this is that you should definitely listen to your body and start preparing for the big event. If anything seems off, go to the hospital or call your dr. Good luck to you all!!!

For some people the plug comes out all at once when their labor starts and that is what I think will happen to me because that is how my mom had it with all of us and then there are others who loose it gradually and after then loose it all they go into labor in like the next couple days at least that is what I hear. Good luck Lissyloo, when is your due date?

same here with the pains, but I'm having BH with them and low back pain (well, not really pain - more like a menstruel cramp type feeling).  I told my dr. and he was like that's normal for this stage in pregnancy, and didn't even check me!  I'm not sure aboutt he plug thing either.  I am definitely having alot more discharge, but its whitish and I think the mucous plug would have a bloody tint to it...not sure though.  Curious to see what everyone else says.
