Congratulations, can't wait until my baby girl arrives.
That's wonderful!! I'm so happy for you and sweet baby Nadiah. :-) And, I'm glad your labor went as you wanted (for the most part).
I started sucking real bad at a game of COD Live. My husband knew something was wrong. For the first time I got a painful BH Contraction--or so I thought. I timed them.. 7 inches apart, then 6, then 5, then 4 then forever 3 & 2s. I knew I was going into real labor. It was around 11pm that I started counting. By 3am the next morning I decided to check in at the hospital. There I found out I was only at 3cm and still the same in the next hour. I was sent back home til pain multiplied. At home, from 6 - 9 am, I suffered more contractions. They were horrible!
I finally quit and told my husband I didn't want the pain anymore. He drove me back to the hospital, I was 5cm now, and I waited 30 mins for the epidural. Along with the pain they had to supply me with oxygen--cause my anxiety of needles..and hospital things.
Finally the pain was gone. Contractions continued to be regular but under all that pain killer I fell asleep. Hour, and then another one and I found out my cervix wasn't opening up as fast so they gave me drugs to help me out.
From 9am til 9pm I've been dozing off to sleep and waking up to be checked but baby wasn't coming. Then at 11pm my epidural was wearing off (found out later it was bent in between the bones of my back or something thus blocked the eps).
The wearing off of the epidural caused me to feel uncomfortable at my tailbone at first then pain! Oh my the pain! My once dead beat legs weren't numb anymore and all the feelings of pain came back.
"Focus is the key. You push when you feel your body contracting. Then rest when its not"
Praises kept me on lock and my husband helped me along telling me I can do it.
I started practicing these pushes. I moved positions about 5 times. They let me see into a mirror, and I can feel her little head. It was so painful!! The burning! But I pushed and pushed and you bet I screamed! Lol. Baby finally came at 1:40am June 14. :]
It was all so worth it as they put her to rest on my chest and gave me a towel to rub her. I watched as she took her first breath and as my husband cut her cord. It was so amazing. I forgot all about the pain. :]
Sooooo, my labor didn't go as plan as I wanted to go all natural (no drugs, etc) in the beginning but when the epidural wore off and I experience the last hours of the last stages--I say it went just the way I wanted it to.
Baby girl Nadiah is 7lbs 4oz ! Pictures up later!
Can't wait for my turn. Congrats! Hope mine will be as quick. X x
Awwww, isn't it giving birth amazing! I didn't think I'd want more kids after this pregnancy but they are such blessings, congratulations on the delivery of your son!!!
Beautiful story! I'm so happy for you and your growing family! :-)
I went into labor on Saturday June 4th. I had just got home from getting a mani/pedi with my sister in law and was about to head to a BBQ for my friends 30th. We were literally walking to the car with things in our hands and I felt a "small balloon pop" down below. I slowed my walk and looked at my husband and said " i think i need to go back inside" he said "on now we're not going to the bbq are we...lol" by the time I got back inside and into the rest room I knew for sure that it had broken as I was trying to stop it with bunches of paper towels lol.
I sat on the toilet and let it "finish" or so I thought. I called the doctor and he said go ahead and get to the hospital. So I called my mom and grabbed my video camera and hit the road. After I changed clothes of course....lol. Headed to the hospital and stopped for food because I knew once I got there they wouldnt give me anymore. My mother beat me there and checked me in, which I wasnt shocked by.
I was checked in and moved to a room and physically checked by 700p I was still 3 cm with very little contractions. We had the discussion of epidurals and I told them I would want one as soon as I could have one to kind of head off the pain. So I labored for a few more hours and then decided to get one about midnight. I then received an iv for pitocin to speed things along. the epidural was good but i still felt ALL the pressure! I went from 5, to 6, to 7 in about 3.5 hours then jumped to 10 in about 15 mins. At about 745a I was finally able to push because he had dropped down far enough. At 8a I started pushing and by 845 he was out.
What an experience!!!! I'm so in love.
Oh my goodness. I love your birth story. My whole pregnancy has been confusing (which is weird since I was so confident w/ Grace) but your story really seems to clear things up. Every pregnancy is different and beautiful. I am so glad you posted... :) Your birth story made my day.
