Haha yeah exactly how I feel, this whole thing is just so crazy to me knowing my body can do this is amazing! But thats sweet of you thanks!
I must say, I was really excited about being pregnant with my first baby, and was excited about being a mother, but getting from one to the other - the labor and birthing that is - totally freaked me out, too! I just loved the diagrams of babies in the womb with their big ol' heads pointed down to come out and I'm thinking THAT head is coming out of THIS tiny opening? Yeah, right. But, the experience went way better than I thought it would, even the recovery. You'll be just fine, too! :-)
This is my first and im very scared of both, especially after watching videos of them.
No choice on this side too!! I have to have a C-section this time, my first thou, I delivered my two boys both vaginally! A new experience for me, but its for the good so I'm told by my doc!
Vaginal delivery for sure has an easier recovery from what I have been told. I would definitely choose vaginal to ceserean. With my first I was induced and had a small tear but I would definitely prefer going through labor then having a c sec.
The recovery for vaginal is a lot better than c-section - so I have heard. If you think about it vaginal isn't surgery - maybe a little tearing of skin or having episiotomy, but c-section, they cut you open, so of course, there will be surgery recovery time. I had vaginal w/ episiotomy for my 1st and I had an epidural (praise God for that!!). I was also induced 4 days past due date. I plan on this one being vaginal as well. I do hope we don't have to induce, but my experience with it went really well, so if that happens again, I hope it goes as smoothly. I know in many cases, inducing can lead to emergency c-section. Now, as far as VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) goes, I am not sure of the risks or complications, though obviously people do it all the time, and it's of course, the more "natural" way to deliver. If you have the choice to deliver vaginally, I think that is what I would do.
I do not have a choice. I am having a C-section. I have had several abdominal surgeries so it is what is best for us. The only thing I really dislike is when they take the staples out. Surgery never bothers me.
I have the same thoughts and concerns. This is our first baby also, I would like to go "old fashion" and have a vaginal birth. Not that I'm shooting for an all natural birth by any means...I'm ok with the drugs! :-) But I only want a C-section if it is a must have.
I have all these thoughts of what it's going to feel like and where I'll be when it happens. So many mixed emotions and thoughts. I'm so excited!
