Getting close...how are we all doing?

Hey ladies just wanted to check in a see how we are all doing. I am super excited for the few ladies they have had their babies, and jealous. I have been ready for this baby to come for many weeks it seems. Both of my first two were early so I expected this last one to be also! The contractions have been constant since 5 months, I pee every 2 hours at night, can't wipe from front to back (like the dr's insist), and O MY THE HEARTBURN! I have to have a c-section Monday and I'm scared about the procedue...but everyone keeps reminding me that I get a wonderful present after so that has been encouraging. So I have 3 days left!! I have not lost my mucus plug yet but the contractions have been pretty intense the last few days...so maybe just maybe I will have her this weekend!! Hope all of you ladies are doing as well as can be expected and can't wait for all of us to be posting pics SOON!!!

I'm 39 weeks now ( my due date is on the 15th ) and experiencing burning back pains and BH Contractions ( which makes my belly feel like solid rock ) that are still too far apart to be real labor ones, but I'm keeping track of the one now.  I'm getting pressure down there as well.
I think my MP is coming out, but little by little. I really don't like the lower back pains. I'm hoping no inducing is needed as well and hope baby comes out on her own.

angela418: I hope your little on comes on its own too. Keep doing all you are and hopefully it works. I was induced with my 1st and so i really don't want to do that again. Good luck!!!

Tryingforbaby2 - I lost my mucus plug the same week, maybe just the day after, I had a membrane sweep with my first baby.  But, then I was induced the next week at 40w4d.  So, obviously it didn't work to get me to labor sooner, but with other people it seems to work. :-)

Tonight and last night we had sex and this evening we went for a 30 minute walk.  I hope I've made some progress.  But, I don't have another doctor's appointment scheduled.  My baby either comes on her own, or I go in to be induced next Thursday June 16.  I hope we can get her to come on her own before then!!

I am 37w 3d today and my Dr appt went well. I am 50% thinned and dialated to about 2. This is good cause they don't want labor before 38 wks in the little town I live in where if there is a problem baby would have to be flown out. My Dr said that she will strip my membranes at 39 wks though. I asked my babysitter about the membrane stripping today cause she has 5 kids and she said she had it done with 2 and lost her mucus plug right after on both.

Oh, wow - I have never heard of a doctor saying to specifically have sex DURING a contraction!  LOL  Talk about romance at it's best!  Big miserable belly and a contraction going on?  Wow...well, what we're gonna do is get DH "aroused" so to speak, and then have sex for the shortest amount possible for him to finish the job!  LOL  They say it's the semen that helps stuff along and when we tried to have sex last week, he got all nervous after like 5 minutes that he was banging into the baby...lol..so this time it'll be short and sweet and hopefully do something productive for me.  I do not enjoy sex this far along in pregnancy either, so this way, we both "win" so to speak...we'll see what happens anyways.

When I had the membrane sweep, I think I was in the 39th week and 1cm dilated and wasn't contracting except for braxton hicks and they weren't regular or close together.  I'm pretty sure it was that same week but some other day after that I lost my mucus plug - so maybe that made it happen.

Well, good luck to us!  I hope something gets these babies out soon!!  :-)

Yeah, I would have been a little more upset if we hadn't discussed it last week. She knew I was willing to have it done already, I just think she didn't want me to panic (like I totally would have) if she had told me before she did it. lol. When you had it done last time, were you dilated at all? Having contractions before hand? How far along were you? She wants me and my fiance to have sex tonight during my contractions to help it along...but I REALLY don't know if I can bring myself to do that. =( If we don't, and this doesn't work, I'm gonna feel like it's my fault though. But ughhhh I hate sex alone while pregnant...but throw some contractions in there with it...it's GOT to be miserable.

Those doctors and their "secret" membrane stripping...kind of irks me that they don't at least tell you - that's what my former doctor did when I was pregnant with my son...but I am glad it wasn't painful for you.  I was still induced a week later after I got it done...I hope it works for you!! :-)

Last week the doctor said I was "almost 3cm" and this week the nurse said "still 3cm", so I guess that means hardly any change.  She said I am "thick", too.  Today I had her nurse do the exam because my doctor is out of town this week.  She said she thinks the "thick" layer  might keep the baby in until my doctor comes back next week (after my due date mind you)!  Not exactly sure what she meant by "thick" but it doesn't sound like a baby is coming in the next day or two.   So much for an earlier baby this time...LOL

okay, ladies!!! I am now a full 3cm dilated 80% effaced, dr. said baby's head is so low that she doesn't know how I'm walking! She stripped my membranes, without telling me btw, and said that she would be in complete shock if I didn't deliver this week! And I am soooo nervous! and having my membranes stripped really didn't hurt that bad in case anyone was wondering.

Where do you get evening primrose oil?

Not sure if I had told anyone but evening primrose oil is what I used it supposed to help by getting the cervix ready and I believe it is what helped to dilate and efface me. I inserted it vaginally as well as took it orally and I heard about from another forum. I also used an excercise ball to help open the pelvis and accupressure points. Good Luck can't wait to see who is next :-)

lol I have a dr. appt. tomorrow too!  We had sex last night -_____- which I really didn't want to, but everyone I know has me convinced it will help start labor. SO I did it. lol. I'm assuming that my Dr. will be discussing induction with me tomorrow =/ and we'll prob set a date, but she doesn't want me to try the castor oil until im 40 weeks..maybe it has a better effect the laster you do it??  I REALLLY don't want to get induced though!

Ok, gals.  I am 39 weeks today.  I am getting induced at 40w4d if we make it that far.  This past week I have been eating more fresh pineapple, drinking raspberry tea, doing squats, tried sex once.  I am hoping at my doctor appointment tomorrow there will be some progress made.

I read something interesting about inducing today.  If you've had a previous vaginal delivery, which I have, then the risk of c-section drops dramatically if you're induced on a subsequent pregnancy..so that's good news for me if I'm induced again after all.  I read it at this website when I was looking up information on the Bishop Score (the scale they use to determine inducing success): http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/pregnancy-articles/173.html

So, has anyone else tried any more tricks to induce labor?

Wow, that's interesting about what your doctor said from her meeting.  I didn't realize there was as much risk until 42 weeks.  Maybe that's why my doctors office doesn't go past 41.  That makes me feel a lot better about inducing at 40w4d again.

Can't wait to hear how the castor oil goes for you...you're brave from what I have heard about it!  Though, if it prevents inducing, maybe it's worth a try - I'll see if my girl comes before her due date, June 12  - if not - it's a hot date for me and the toilet!  LOL

Actually, I just talked to my Dr. about induction the other day. And she had just gotten out of a meeting just before my appointment about it. She said that because technology is SO much more advanced now than it used to be, they are predicting due dates much more accurately, and the chances of fetal mortality increases a great deal after 41 weeks. And, I will be trying castor oil, I don't mind the ***** if it gets my baby out LOL. I will let you all know how that works out for me...that's if he doesn't decide to come sooner. =]

Yep, I actually wondered the opposite about the inducing.  Why don't they wait until 42 weeks since 38-42 is technically full term?  At my doctor's office they don't go past 41 weeks, but they will induce at 39 if you want to, I think, and if you've progressed enough.  I hope it's not too soon to induce actually.  My son's went fine, like it should, but I'm terrified of having an "emergency" c-section due to inducing.

I haven't tried castor oil, but I really don't want to give myself the sh$ts...LOL...I am trying to eat extra high fiber foods and maybe that'll have the same effect without the extreme diarrhea?  IDK  Maybe I'll give in at 40 weeks just to try to avoid inducing.

LOL on the sex..that's how I feel too..sorry hubby, but I'm not one of the women who is MORE into sex during pregnancy..quite the opposite, especially this late in the game!

Omg they are not inducing you until the 16th??? Wow, why are they waiting so long? I would be miserable. C-sections here are done a week before the due date, not sure why. Have you thought about using the castro oil? I was afraid to because of the side effects (the sh$ts). My sister used it though and went into labor and had her daughter the same day. I know what you mean about the aches and pains at night...I even have to use the bedroom wall to get outta bed. As for sex...ya I tried that too with no luck and now I'm just like "forget it, I'm to miserable to even attempt it anymore". LOL!!

I haven't had any regular contractions yet, aside from BH sporadically throughout the day.  I tried timing them but they're like 20-30 min apart at least!  Grrr... But I pee all night long and my joints and muscles in my pelvic area absolutely kill me at night when I have to roll over or get out of bed.  It's too dang hot to do any walking - I was hoping I could so it'd help maybe speed things along - so I decided to take another piece of advice I heard and do some squats.  I do like ten after each time I go to the bathroom and when I am brushing my teeth.  I also found some "raspberry zinger" tea (which has the raspberry leaves in it) in my pantry in my herbal tea mix so I started drinking that once a day two days ago.  Tried the sex once the other day, but DH said he could "feel something" and was afraid his big masculine man part was hurting her - LOL  I was like, um no you can't reach that far, sorry.  My next dr. appt is Monday and as of this past Tuesday I was 2 1/2 cm dilated - up from 2 the week before.  I hope all my squatting and tea drinking has made some change..we'll see. :-)  I am due June 12 with induction scheduled for June 16.  My son was also induced 4 days after his due date, but I'd like to see what it's like to go in to natural labor for once.  Can't wait to hear about the next June Bug being born!! :-)
