With your first babies when did you start dialating?

I know it really doesnt mean anything but im just super curious, I got checked he said  NO PROGRESS ha after all the cramping and pain down there nothing... And I have been spotting and wierd stuff was in the toilet when I went to the bathroom so I dont think I wanna get checked next week... Haha aaahh im sooo nervous.

I hope all you ladies are doing ok and enjoying everything.

Oh another question so my friend is like 2 weeks behind me she is a heavier gal, she told me her doc wants to strip her membranes at 37 weeks to prevent her from having a c-section and she doesnt know why she would be at risk of having one, this is her first i asked why she didnt ask her doctor and she said the whole thing just scared her and was in shock and the doctor told her it would help her have a spontaneous labor ... Ya im confused too...

Anyways I cant believe how close we are im so excited to hear birth stories and see your little ones...

You won't be pregnant forever!  Even if your little man is late, which is very possible - mine was - we induced 4 days after his due date - he has to come out eventually! :-)

I totally feel you that time is dragging - we've made slow progress getting the house ready for our little girl - but we really don't have much time left..even if it does seem to go by slow now!

I'm in more pain these days, too.  Just today I got a weird back pain in my very lower back, like upper butt area.  I'm not sure if it's her head pressing weird or what - I haven't felt that before.  I hope she's turned correctly.  I go to the doctor tomorrow so I guess I can ask then.

Not long before we all start announcing the births - and then the REAL fun begins!  ;-)

No dialation for me either but it has been over 2 wks since they have checked. I had both of my babies before 36 weeks and I will be 36 wks Monday. I have my last u/s Monday and I'm sure my dr will check my cervix during that time also. I have been having lots of pressure and pain. Also lots of contactions and pain when she kicks...especially way down low. OUCH! I am so ready to have her!! Good luck ladies!!

I started dilating maybe a week or two before I was induced (had my first baby at 40 weeks 4 days).  I was 1-2 cm dilated when I went to the hospital to be induced.  It's earlier for some people and they progress a little each week for a few weeks.  My cousin in law started several weeks before delivery and was at 4 cm by the time she was induced.

My doctor with my first baby stripped my membranes at either 38 or 39 weeks - she just did it during one of my exams and then told me afterwards.  Apparently that's legal for them to do, though it would have been nice for her to at least ask??  I don't understand why she did it either.  I guess to help speed up when I would go in to labor??  It hurt, too.  I am going to ask my new doctor if she does that and what the reasoning of it is when I go next week (if I remember!).

I went to the doctor on Tuesday at 35 weeks 2 days and was not dilated yet, either.  I hope this baby comes on her own this time, though!  She feels huge and it's getting painful when she kicks me!

I can't wait to see and hear about all of our babies, either!  :-)  It is getting sooooo close!!

I was one of the unlucky ladies with my first I didn't start dilating or effacing until I was induced and I don't know if all my babies will be like that. Guess I will find out at my appointment on Tuesday. I don't know why your friends doctor would strip her membranes to prevent her from having a c section unless he has reason to believe she will end up with one. That's just odd, I am confused too. I can't wait to start hearing birth stories as well!
