DO NOT JUDGE

So I tested positive for thc when they did blood work at 4 weeks. I also found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks so of course I quit right away. I was a regular smoker so of course it showed up positive. So doc told me tonight that I tested positive at my initial visit and will be retested my next visit. I HAVE NOT SMOKED SINCE I FOUND OUT @4 weeks and im going to be 19 weeks when I go back. What are my chances it will show up positive again even though I haven't smoked

Did you tell your doctor you smoked weed before you got pregnant? I did, so they knew I was going to test positive for THC and they didn't care, they just told me not to smoke anymore. If you're honest with your doctor they're very understanding but if you try to hide it then I think they become concerned, Idk.

It's more dependent on body fat. If you're average size with average exercise patterns and fluid intake 30 days should be enough to clear you. Obesity,  poor exercise patterns (thc is stored in fat cells so exercises burns it off) and/or poor fluid intake can lead to a positive test up to 90 days later. Just drink lots of water, take a walk every so often and don't stress! Physicians appreciate honesty. Even if you do test positive you can let them know exactly what you said here... daily smokers retain longer than recreational ones. As long as you really have quit they will at least see the levels of thc in your system have decreased if they haven't been cleared totally. I'm sure your doctor will be able to do the math to see your story matches up.

By 30 days it is usually out of your system.   However it can take longer for someone who smoked alot.  I've seen it take 2 or 3 months.  But those people smoked alot every day.

I think even if it shows up still as a positive..it'll be more of a level that they can see reducing compared to the first over just a simple negative or positive right? Hopefully if so. At least they would be able to tell thay you've stopped. When I took a drug test for work before it showed levels as well as positive/negative.

Ouch sometimes I believe our system over does it.  I don't personally use thc but is there really any negative effect. Especially since you have thc receptors in your body idk that's a whole other debate huh.  SStarfish it should be out of your system.  From what I have read before cranberry juice and water really help flush it out.  Dont worry momma and good luck

Ok thanks I will be fine if 30 days I thought it was more like 90 so thought I would be screwed considering my next appointment would put me at 90days since I found out and quit

I understand.  I was a regular smoker as well..I've read 30 days and if you drink tons and tons of water it cleans you out sooner

I was a smoker before I got pregnant. With my first I didn't know I was pregnant til 8 weeks and tested positive and they told me the same thing they told you that they would test me again. Well I went back a month later and I was all clear. So if you went from 4 weeks to 19 weeks you should be fine
