Induction question

Ftm, due this Sunday the 14th but doctor says I'm only 1cm dilated. Shr scheduled an induction for the 23rd. I noticed others had inductions scheduled prior to their due dates. I'm wondering why mine is scheduled a week after my due date? I never thought I'd have to go over 40 weeks :/

Depends on your doctor. Mine will not induce before 41 weeks unless there is a medical necessity. I was induced at 39 weeks only because I decided developed gestational hypertension, otherwise I would have had to wait for baby to arrive  on her own or get induced at 41. Personally, I would have preferred having her late rather than early and give her the time she needed to develop

It all depends on your doctor. Mine said it was my choice to get induced at 39 weeks or 40 weeks but she definitely will induce at 41 no later than that. I'm 38 weeks if he dosent come before my due date I will want to be induce at 40 weeks I definitely do not want to be past due

I have the same due date and an induction scheduled for 6/21. My doctors made it clear that they will not induct prior to 41 weeks if there's no medical reason to.
