Vacations

so my females friends want to take me on a trip before I have the baby. They sent me information for Cancun at the end of April. What do you all think about that? I feel guilty when I spend unnecessary money but I really don't do anything anymore and that would be fun.

What sweet friends! I would just make sure that they aren't planning on hitting the clubs there every night, as that would be no fun for a pregnant woman! Sounds like they are being super thoughtful, so that is probably not the case. I went to Cancun as a teenager, and it seemed like everything was geared around the nightclubs and drinking, but that might have just been my age and who I was with. The beaches are beautiful though, so I think that would be a wonderful place to relax before the baby comes!

I say do it. The first years of a baby's life is very busy so enjoy your sanity while you can. We also have a Vegas trip planned in April and I know that it will be our last family trip for a while so I'm gonna take it all in even if I can't drink.

Go for it!  It would be awesome! What great friends you have!   I wish i had of done something like that before my first!  Now expecting my second and would settle for soaking in the bathtub for 15 minutes without a toddler joining me or dumping her toys in! Or getting out multiple times to wipe a nose etc!  Maybe check out the menus at the resort if it is all inclusive.  You want to be sure you will have lots of options. And they say not to drink the water.  I have never been so i have no personal experiences there!  I agree with making sure dr is ok with it all depending on how far along you are. Treat yourself to a massage while you are there!

Sounds like fun, but I would check with your dr about their opinion regarding swimming in the ocean while pregnant. If you are in your 3rd trimester they may be worried about the possibility of infection. Also, make sure your dr thinks it is safe for you to travel at that point in your pregnancy.

I think over it and have a blast!! you're going to spend the rest of your life setting that baby first and if you spend a little more you probably won't once he or she is here!

I say go! Just talk to your doc to make sure there's nothing you should be worried about depending on how far along you will be then.  Have fun!!

You should go this will be your last trip without diapers, strollers, car seats etc (if it's your first baby). Take the time now to relax because once the baby comes you will have little time for yourself-when the baby is newborn a shower is hard to come by - to coordinate with the babies feeding and nap schedule. But make sure the trip is far enough from your due date. Getting stuck in a Hospital in Mexico because of complications or preterm labor would not be fun.

That would be fun. We're doing a last trip with the family at the begging of April. I have a 7 yr old and a 1 1/2 yr old and this will be our last trip probably for a while until the new baby is older. I confirmed with my dr before we finalized flight plans, he gave me the ok. Be aware that airlines want a "flight release-okay to fly note" from your dr after 28 weeks (maybe it's 30 wks). I will be 30 wks

Honestly I would definitely check to see what kind of temperature Cancun has at the end of April.....it may be too hot and you don't want to be miserable from the heat.....I'm from louisiana and usually by the end of April it's pretty warm here like between 80&90° plus humidity and it can be really miserable without being pregnant let alone being pregnant.....maybe suggest somewhere a little less hot or something and explain to them that you want to enjoy the vacation but not be hot and miserable.

That would be a blast! If you haven't had any issue throughout your pregnancy I say go for it. You will not be able to do something like that for years to come!  Unless you have very awesome and supportive parents but ya.
