membrane sweep?

38 weeks and doc measures baby to be 39 weeks. 4 cm dialated and cervix 60% effaced. Doc swiped membranes. Will this really help me?

It didn't hurt for me at all. Definitely started labor for me though

It works well for some and doesnt work for others..I had it done on pregnancies and it worked great for me,I was in labor a few hours later..I think it can take up to a couple of days to work
