First Birthday Party

We had Brock's 1st birthday party today!  It was great, but exhausting...for everyone!  We had 30 people here.  We started at noon, and everything was wrapped up at about 3:00!  We had lunch, cake, and then presents!  I worked out great!  Normally, I would do cake after presents, but I wanted Brock to enjoy it without being so tired after presents!  A lady at school made a 3D teddy bear cake!  So cute!  I'll post some pictures!  There are so many more toys now!  We'll have to sort and put in more rooms!  One of the girls I work with calls this "the plastic years!"  I look at our living room, and I agree 100%!!!!
I can't wait to hear about everyone else's  parties!  Good luck!

Love the pics! Looks like you guys had a good time.

Ovaz - Depending on the ages of the kids, maybe you could have a "coloring contest". Have everyone draw a picture of their favorite part of the party. Have little goodie bag for all of them as a "prize". Keep the pics, put them in some sort of scrapbook type book as a memory of the party day. Something to keep them busy as well as giving you something to remember the kiddie guests by in a few years. :)

Jem-He didn't really get what was going on!  He loved the paper!  He wasn't scared of all the people, which I was nervous about!  He loved the cake, but he didn't get too messy!  He had to get his clothes changed, but he was pretty easy to clean up!

Ovaz-There were about 8 kids at the party.  We had so many toys that they found, so they were  pretty intrigued by those!  Then when present opening started, they were all around us, which was cute.  A girl I work with had "pin the hat on Griffin" for her son's first birthday party, and she made up some other kid games.  The kids at Brock's party were 3 and up, and I think they just loved seeing little kid toys again!  We were going to do party bags for the kids, but I figured once Brock can enjoy one, then we'll do it!

I was very nervous yesterday morning, but it all worked out!  It was lots of fun!  We moved quickly from lunch to cake to presents.  I wanted Brock to enjoy all parts of his party without being to cranky and tired!

Good luck with all the birthday parties!  Can't wait to hear about them and see  pictures!
