i have found that gas drops (even the generic brand) are a god send... there are nights that Daniel acts like he is dieing and after giving him the gas drops he will take his bottle for a minute and then i can burp him and he is better.. .
Daniel is 3 weeks old, and is doing well... i am giving him formula most of the time and pumping as much as i can and giving him the breastmilk as well... he freaks completely out every time i try to put him to the breast but like Mommy2B says... breastmilk is breastmilk and as long as it is getting into thier lil bodies it is all good... i dont care HOW he gets it as long as he gets it...
Sorry it's been so long ladies... sounds like everyone is doing really well...
Asa is getting fatter and fatter... I am still giving him strictly breast milk, but I'm pumping and giving it to him in a bottle b/c he never really got a hang of the latching on... I had to give him a bottle when he was six days old bc I had to take some darvocet, and after that, he was even worse at latching on... but I figure breast milk is good no matter where it comes from... well... I think he needs some mylicon drops too, b/c he will just randomly scream out and when I pick him up, I hear bubbles in his belly : (
i am home... i posted a couple pics .. everything went very smoothly. he is a joy, perfect in every way. Daniel Joseph was 8lb 8oz and 19 3/4 inches long... well they said he was gonna be a big baby....lol
Reece is gassy and just strains and gets fussy when pooping. He's not constipated, but has to be forceful with it. He is on cereal, and I've heard that can make him gassy. But, it's either be gassy or spit up and not eat...and I'd much rather have him gassy and eating so he can grow.
Reece had dropped down to 8lbs last week and I'm proud to say he's back up to 8.11lbs as of Tuesday. He didn't make his birth weight by 2 weeks of age, but close enough. The cereal is helping in that department.
Glad to hear all our babies that are here are doing well... Joyce should be recooperating from her C-Section and enjoying her baby by now...
Okay thanks! I'll try that out!!
cyrena- my Brielle can get pretty fussy when she has gas. I have been giving her gripe water before I feed her and that seems to have helped alot.
Brody is 8lbs now and about a month old. He's been nursing well, but I've found out that I have to massage my breast a little to make sure he's getting enough to eat. I strictly pumped then fed him with a bottle for two days just to see how much he was eating and if I needed to supplement with formula, which I did a few times. I think my milk supply has increased some. Last night and this morning I didn't have to supplement!
He's a wonderful baby and only fusses when he is trying to have a bowel movement. He's not colicky by any means, but my poor baby really makes a fuss when having gas or a bowel movement. His pediatrician assures me that he's fine, but it just breaks me heart to see him so upset. He's so content otherwise. Anyone else having problems like that?
i am doing great now, am bumping thread up and getting more excited by the minute... basically i have today to get everything done that i need to get done, as i have to be ready to go to where my hospital is by 11ish tomorrow morning.... i dont want to make the old guy who is giving me a ride, have to make 2 trips to the same town...lol

hi ladies!!!
everything is going great here! Alister is breast feeding and doing really well! im abit sore but getting used to it! hes gettig better at sleeping during the night also, sleeps all the time during the day which is good!, oh and the other thing is that he loves noise, he can sleep through anything!
so glad to hear that all of our babies are doing well... i can not wait to be there again... 4 more days til i get to hold my lil man, and 8 days til i am back home and can post any pics... am kinda glad that kids have a few days of school after i get home, might help me get back into a routine of some sort... have some "alone" time with the baby...lol
anyhow i am still debating whether i will breast or bottle feed... i want to try to bf but am just not sure... i tried it once with one of the other kids and didnt have great success... so i am just not real sure...lol i have so many people telling me that i am a bad mom if i dont nurse, and are pushing the issue... how do i explain to them that it really isnt something that i want to do for long (maybe first 6-8 weeks)? anyhow hope all of the babies continue to do well....
hugs and luv to you all
kiki: We are doing Zantac and Mylicon drops and I'm glad you said something about the poo, because I've noticed it's turned yellowish like mustard almost and was wondering if this was normal. The bottle says you can give up to 12 times, I think, but pediatrician said to only give 4 times a day, so that is what we are doing.
My mom is keeping Reece tonight so mommy and daddy can have some sleep. She is finding that Reece does better with the reflux if he eats 2oz every 2 hours, but goodness that is going to be hard during the night getting up every 2 hours.
Like I've said before, people have babies all the time, but I didn't expect it to be this hard.
Hey ladies!!!!
Everytime I tried to come in and write something, Nicole starts to cry or I have to do something else while she's sleeping or I'll be sleeping with her... Glad to hear everyone is doing great and congrats to all the new moms, claire, kyle, krushin, mandy, tarrah, kenny and to everyone else I forget to mention, lol.
Well, Nicole has an appointment on the 28th and I will know how much he weighs then. She is eating alot 3.1/2oz-4oz every 3-4 hours. SHe's not a fussy baby, but she knows when she's in the room by herself already. She will start crying her lungs out, LOL!!!! I'm still breastfeeding, but she doesn't seem satisfied so afterwards she'll drink an oz or two of formula. I'm going to ask her pediatrician if it's ok to start cereal. Other than that, I have no complaints, only like kenny said, it's going to fast, lol. daddy is doing great and a great help. He gets up in the middle of the night to get her milk and feed her.
I haven't posted more pictures because I can't find the wire from my camera that goes into the computer(USB cable or something) is somewhere here in my house(I moved right after Nicole was born remember) as soon as I find it I will post more pics and trust me I have a lot, even one with her first little bow on her hair, it's too cute!!!
Well ladies, have to go now, I have to go give Lourie her dinner. Nicole is being fef by daddy, so I take care of Lourie while he has her, so she won't get jealous. I'll be backon soon,
Take care ladies and keep enjoying your little ones!!!!!
Jenny
Brielle and I are doing awesome, I really have no complains other than its going by to fast!! She eats very well, I think sometimes to much b/c she spits up alot sometimes. I Tried my pump today and got 5 ounces off each side so I wonder if maybe they are too full. I plan to pump as much as possible. Sleeping is going well too, she usually sleeps for 3-4 hrs at nighttime so I am getting some sleep. Last night she slept for 6 hrs!! I felt guilty b/c she didnt eat in all that time, but I guess she must have needed the sleep. Hubby went back to work today and I think its harder for him than me, I really havent done much other than feed, pump and change baby. oh I got a movie in! LOL. I think he will be all about daddy time tonight! ( kinda why I pumped...)
Hope everyone is doing well!!
Everything is going pretty well here...We are also dealing with Kyra having reflux, but since i am breast feeding we can't do the cereal route, so we are just trying to keep her elevated and it seems to be helping some. It doesn't seem to be affecting her weight at all, at her week appt on Monday she was 7lbs 3oz and when i had her at the office yesteday to check out her reflux she was up to 7lbs 13oz. She eats like a little piggy so i guess i shouldn't have been surprised, but 10oz in 4 days i was blown away!! She is changing so much already and i am kind of sad that i can't capture every minute of it. I am still dealing with a bit of the baby blues, but everyday it is getting better. I am glad to hear that everyone else is doing so well and I love hearing everyone else's updates!!
Joyce- Just a couple more days and your little man will be here...How exciting!!!
oh wow.. all these babies are getting so big already... cant believe it.
sorry that madison has a cold already, is it hard when they are so little...
5 days and counting til i get to hold my lil man... i check into hospital at 5ish AM on May 28th and should be holding him by 9AM... i am scared, nervous,excited,ect... all rolled into one.... this is my 4th so it should be old hat, but i am still a little nervous anyhow....hopefully i can get someone to take pics and i can post as soon as i get home... i dont have a laptop so cant post while in hospital (BOOOO)
anyhow hope babies are doing great... and i will keep posted.
things are great here,m hardly ever on bc i'm so busy at home with madison. i am returning to work on june 22nd and not wanting to at all lol she is sick right now with a bad cold but was told nothing we can do but watch it and suck her nose, so she is being cranky and wants lots of attention, she is huge now. she is up to 10 1/2 pounds now and 22 inches long. she has changed so much it's crazy.
***glad to hear that everyone is doing so well and babies are doing great!
Yeah the cereal should do the trick! I did notice it can cause a little gas, Do you have infant gas drops? They are called Mylicon drops, I give Addy some right after her cereal bottle and it helps with any discomfort from the gas. Oh it might cause some orange streaks in his POO don't freak out it's normal! LOL ( If your like me I'm a POO inspector!) HAHA OH what I have become!
Well, we just tried adding a little rice cereal to Reece's formula because he wasn't wanting to take it because it's nasty tasting, even for him. He dranked 3oz and kept it down. Maybe this is the trick we've been looking for. I sure hope so, he needs to gain his weight back and I feel so bad when he has his reflux because I know he's in pain and there is nothing I can do. But, he seems content so keeping our fingers crossed! I can't believe Addy is up to 8lbs already and has fat rolls! So precious!!!
I feel the same way! I feel like oh no I havn't checked into see if we have more babies. BUT things are definately busier for all of us these days. It will get easier. Addy lost almost 1 pound too, she gained it back quickly, she is almost 8 pounds now! She finally has fat rolls!!! ~WOO~HOO! LOL
I hope all works out with your pumping it is very frusterating, other than the cost (this stuff is PRICEY) for me I'm glad I went with formula feeding this time around. Addy gained weight more rapidly I think and she really needed it, she is up to 4 oz, every 3 hrs during the day, and she has about 5 oz of cereal every day, she is growing fast. She was also spitting a bit, b/c her belly was hurting for taking too much formula, once I started her cereal it stopped thank goodness.
