hkenny: Same here in the States...you can take it back if it was on your registry.  Not a lot of people think to keep the receipt or get a gift receipt, so that's a good thing for them taking the items back without a receipt.  You can't get money back for it, but you can get store credit, which is just as good.

claire- people register kinda for the baby shower, that way guest can go to the store or online for wherever you register and buy you the things on the registry. this way people buy you the things you want or need rather than just stuff. like for myself i dont need clothes at all so my freind of mine that is hosting is going to tell people go off the registry. once the item is bought it comes off so you dont get doubles.the really nice thing is if people buy you stuff from that store that is not on your registry you can take it back without a reciept. (at least at babiesrus here in canada)

even though i dont think i am gonna have a shower, i registered at walmart online...much easier....lol..i am not real big on crowds, and it seems like no matter what there are big crowds in the stores up here....lol..definately a online registerer...lmao

claire, i know that picking up diapers is boring, BUT they go through them so fast, that if we dont start now..omg they will be wearing papertowel for diapers by 2 months...lol

ok well i know this is about spending, BUT i have a couple things....first and most important...since i was freaking out last week about not really feeling baby, it is kicking and moving much more now, and so much that i can sometimes feel from outside...sooo kool.  also....even though it still COULD be a boy...i have been thinking that i like TRINITY for a girl...but no ideas on middle names to go with it, the last name is gonna either be Milligan(my last name) or Junod(bf's last name) so not sure what to do on that either...lol

Trinity           Milligan
Trinity           Junod

lmao
please fill in blanks...lmao

its so funny you guys mention that. we went last night and registered. at first dh was going to take a nap in the car, then he came in and got all into it. he was a scanning maniac!! it was great to have him there, he seemed to get really excited about shopping for baby.

Cyrena: Same here about registering.  DH hated going to register when we got married, until he realized he could put stuff he wanted for the house on it.  Well, same with registering for Reece, he wanted to work the scanner and he came up missing and was just scanning away...what was so funny was he scanning all kinds of cabinet latches, toilet latches, etc...and I'm thinking...it's going to be a little while before we have to use those, but I let him go for it...he was having fun and participating.

Well my BF hates shopping as well, but it seems this baby has changed a lot about him already.  I had to force him to go with me to register, but once we got there on the baby aisle he went into Daddy mode and was doing more shopping than me!  I love it!

i picked up a really awesome deal on ebay....mostly gender neutral but i got that back when i was only about 2 months along...lol....probably close to 30 outfits plus enough socks and booties to last awhile. it also included a few blankets,towels,ect... i also picked up a TON of bottles (and i am planning on nursing for awhile...lol) but they were cheap.  figure if nothing else since some are brand new still in packages, i can donate to local pregnancy center after i find out if i will be successful at nursing or not....lol

other than that, we really dont have the money to go hog wild, AND we are not positive that we know what it is yet. i WANT to pick up things on sale, but we are trying to wait til we have some extra cash...maybe tax time. because we are low income, we can get help with some things for free, but i want to get as much NEW stuff as possible...lol

anyhow that is my buying in a nutshell....also have picked up a package of diapers(size newborn)

We've been buying too...and it's not just me, DH too.  When we go to the store or something, we always end up in the baby part and he'll go to picking stuff out.  Like all of you, I was told to stop because of showers, but it's just so hard!!!!

I haven't bought anything yet, but my BF has!  Which I think is just so adorable because he's such a macho type and you'd expect him to not be interested in baby clothes!  We went to start registering last night and he HAD TO HAVE these little camo socks.  He said he wanted to buy them right then because it was the last pair and he was afraid they wouldn't be there once the shower came along.  He also bought a bib with monster trucks on it!  How cute!!!!

I ordered the furniture b/c it takes 8 weeks to come in. I dont think I will be setting up the nursery right away as we will be moving, we dont know yet when we are moving so we plan to just set up the dresser for her clothes and then leave the rest, she'll be in a bassinet for a bit anyway.  I went shopping again today! spent alot at baby gap! but they gave me 30% b/c of some promo!! WOOHOO> I have bought clothes for all ages from newborn to 18 months. If its on sale and I like it I buy it, plus everyone has said most babies wear stuff ealier than what the tag says. I really really need to stop though.

I am still trying to figure out what crib set ot buy but once i decide i'll be buying that too. I have bought blankets, burp clothes, receiving blankets, toys. not to mention what i got for christmas.
