Ive never had a c section but if it is safe for u and ur baby to attempt a vaginal delivery go for it they can allways do a c section if it doesnt go to plan ie baby gets stressed, stuck or anything else they will just send u in for a c section but at least u tried. I nearly had a c section with my son his heart beat kept stopping they gave me till 930 to have him i had been in labour 11 hours but  i was determined i was doing it my way and i had him at 915 was the best feeling in the world u go straigt from there to ur room with ur baby and the pain is gone :) and u have this lovely bundle of joy staring at you.

Sorry for the ignorance... but what is VBAC?  I had a C-Section with first baby, and I am just assuming that i am getting a scheduled one for my second baby due in May...  This baby is FET, and I had major endometriosis scar tissue & tumors removed again before I got pregnant again.... I just would rather do the c-section again to avoid complications - am I being naive?

Please browse this website on C-Sections and VBAC's before you make a decision. I don't want to sound like a nut job, but remember how much cash docs make off C-sections....they are trained for surgery, it's their job, they make way less for a normal healthy vaginal birth...so why not make a policy that guarantees more C-sections. The c-section rate in america is higher than any other country...even the World Health Organization is warning us that this is not safe...I'll end my rant...just please do some research before you make a decision. It comes down to what's best for you and your body, and your baby...and contrary to popular belief Doctors don't always know what's best. Take charge of your own self mama-best of luck-no matter what you choose, for a happy healthy warm cuddly bundle of love!

hi. my first c-section was 3 years ago. my daughter has a rare heart defect so they did a c-section to avoid problems. there were no problems with me. My doctor doesnt say much, the practice doesnt allow VBACs for any reason. i just really would hate to go the rest of my life and never "giving birth" i didnt even get to carry her full term (born at 35 weeks) but she was big. (7lbs)... Thanks for the advise.

Hi.  I'm definitely attempting a VBAC - barring some act of god.

Why does your Dr recommend against it?  What was the reason for your 1st c/s?

Your risk factors are based on
-1st c/s due to failed vaginal delivery
-Number of prior c/s'
-Amount of scar tissue
-Type of incision
These are just a few...

He should have explained exactly why he thinks you shouldn't attempt a VBAC.  Even if his reasons are valid & the risk of complications too high, I still believe that you should have been given an explanation.  That's troubling.

Fugitive
