Belly Size too small?

Hi Ladies,

So, as of last week I felt like my belly was growing pretty quickly, and I loved it! My belly popped and I looked like a cute little preggy momma! However, this week my belly seems to have reached a standstill. I'm 16 weeks, 5 days today, and I feel like compared to all my friends (who are just a little bit ahead of me) I'm so much smaller at 16-17 weeks than they were.

They are all having boys though- maybe mine's a girl? Or maybe I just carry different.

Do you think I have any reason to be concerned? I had a miscarriage right before this baby, so it's safe to say I'm a little paranoid :)

How do you carry your baby? Has your belly growth gone through growth spurts at all, and then slowed down? Or based off of the sex of the baby do you carry differently? I just don't know what's a wives tale and what's not!

Thank you for any guidance you may have!

It is true everyone is different.  Myself and a girl I work with are due just 12 days apart.  She is due first but is probably double the bump size (she says when she stands next to me she wonders if she is having a baby giant!).  When I was pregnant with my daughter I got thicker around the middle (was a stick to begin with) but really didn't pop til I was around 25 weeks...then I got real big real fast.  I am 16 weeks today and will take a belly shot if u want to compare, but everyone is different.

I think more important than belly size is actual weight gain.  I have heard from a few sources that during the 2nd trimester you should aim to gain an average of 1 lb per week.

hi! I would not worry! It depends on every woman's body structure and how we accommodate the baby inside of us. I have known women who hardly looked pregnant even at 7months and the babies were healthy as ever!
I am around 14 weeks and have the smallest ever bump, and a much bigger bloated stomach above it! Do relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

don't worry about your belly size it, will end up getting bigger. some people don't even begin showing until at least 20 weeks or more.
