I was induced with pitocen, it's a drip through your I.V.  You will KNOW when you lose your plug.  It's disgusting!  Like a big blob of snot, sorry to be blunt but it's true.  It was absolutely disgusting.

I was 10 days overdue with my first and they put some gel stuff up near my cervix to thin it and I went into labour a few hours later. But I think there is another way too. On a drip maybe? Or injection? Hopefully someone else can help with that. I know my doc wasn't going to let me go more that 2 weeks overdue. But I think it depends on where you are and what your doc prefers to do. With the mucus plug I know some ladies can lose it weeks before giving birth so its not necessarily a sign you will go into labour.

I see, I'm 10 Days away from my due date &I had thought I lost my plug today, but no mucus came out just a lil tiny bit of pinkish stuff, hardly tell. What are the steps to getting induced ? & does that happen when you go over your due date. ?

My contractions felt like a badperiod cramp. All through my lower belly and my lower back and then worked up as my whole belly contracted. They had a definite start and finish with a bloody strong peak in the middle. Mine didn't start getting unbearable pain wise untill they where 5 mins apart. I don't know if I lost my mucus plug or not. I don't think I did. I know I didn't with my first but I was inducedso it was very different compared to going naturally like this time.
