ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

Okay everyone! My doctor told me that if my son isn't here by next Friday then he'll induce me next Sunday. I'm due May 1st and may be getting induced on May 3rd if he doesn't come. I'm 2cm dilated and hoping he comes before next Friday. I'm just so happy that next week will be my last week of pregnancy. Any advice on what I should do?

Oh and I've been feeling contractions since yesterday and I hope that's a sign of him trying to come on his own. I went to sleep to relieve the pain and it worked I guess. I believe those were only braxton hicks contractions though.

I'll definitely try that. I've tried walking and everything. I have sex a lot too but my son won't budge. My mom got induced with me and my sister and had us both vaginally. This is my first child and I'm young so I should be able to handle the pains quite well. I'm only 18 but not the normal 18 year old. I'll be 19 in 2 months and I'm independent and I was in college at an early age and I still am. I guess I'll have my  boyfriend help me dance this baby out. Lmao. Continue with the positive comments please! Wish me luck ladies!

Oh! To answer your question about what to do: I've been seeing videos about a 'break your water dance' or 'labor dance'. Basically women are dancing to bring on labor. I would ask my doctor if it was okay before I did it, I think I would hurt myself doing it. Lol. You can find the videos on youtube. If you don't want to do it at least you can laugh at other women doing it. Haha. :)
I have a cousin who went into labor after dancing like a fool the day before.
Also, walk. A lot. It'll help.
Good luck! :)

Yeah I wasn't asking if I should get induced because he's going to induce me anyway. I have 4 days left now and I was just trying to get my son to come out on his own. Hopefully he pulls through within these last 4 days. I didn't ask my doctor to induce me at all. He just told me if baby isn't here by Friday then he has to come Sunday whether he likes it or not. I'm dilated and he's already been in the birth canal. I'm pretty sure that my doctor knows what he's doing though. Best OBGYN in Chicago!

It doesn't seem like anyone was trying to be nasty. I think there may have been some confusion  regarding what type of "advice" the poster wanted. When I first read it I thought she wanted to know if she should get induced or wait, which explains  the responses. U ask for advice  u get advice. But I guess she wanted to know how to induce labor naturally? Idk either way good luck.

I'm sure you're like me KahyahAndTray, I trust my doctor and trust her oppions. If I didn't trust her, she wouldn't be my doctor. I know my doctor is going to help me make the best decision in the delievery of my baby, and that's that.

Don't you know that watching a documentary, reading a couple of books, and researching online makes one more knowledgeable than a doctor?

Omfg leave this girl alone! I was induced with my first son at 39 weeks and he was perfect. I know people who went overdue and ended up with c sections, I know people who had a baby at 36/37 weeks and they were fine, while others needed to stay in the NICU. EVERY BABY AND PREGNANCY IS DIFFERENT! Congrats mama! I'm tired of people making it seem like your destined to end up with a c section for getting induced when you NEVER know what's going to happen during labor and all you people saying she should wait till 42 weeks could end up with c sections(God forbid) for any # of reasons. Let her be happy!!! This is supposed to be a page for support and her DOCTORRRR is ok with it. Since when do any of us know her and know labor better just Bc we've had kids and done some research on Google??? Ridiculous

I get them just giving you a heads up that induction can cause complications but no need to be so nasty and pushy. And the sad part is that I would actually advice against getting induced but the way they went about it was wrong. Now inducing labor naturally go for it but medically induced omg don't do it! I've had it both ways (natural and induced) and I wouldn't wish that pain and stress on anyone it's crazy!! I plan to help my baby girl into the world with things like sex and walking just to make labor faster and easier but if it doesn't work I'm going to wait as long as possible before inducing it's awful lol.

Well just a thought but yes do dates can be off but it could go the other way too. She could be 2 weeks further along then they think too. What's important is the baby's development as long as he's "full term" aka fully developed it can bbe just as dangerous to stay pregnant. Speaking from experience of a doctor that wouldn't induce or do a growth scan and refused to believe I knew the exact day I got pregnant my son was 3 weeks over do had no placenta left and had multiple surgeries to drain fluid off him from starvation, I say if they did a growth scan and baby is good then do what you do!!

@ftm110 baby I can do what I want. Y'all y'all y'all y'all y'all! I can say y'all all I want. Worry about your baby. My baby is fine. Perfect size and everything. I was asking everybody if I should walk more or something so bye. And like I said if he doesn't come on his own by Friday then I'm getting induced Sunday. Don't come to me with the C-section bs because just because you get induced does not mean that you need a C-section. Keep that negativity to your self. Unless my doctor says I need a c-section then I don't. Worry about you and yours because my son is good PERIOD! I don't actually need your negative opinion or anybody else's. I just asked for advice so he could come on his own. You can definitely move around off of my post though. Congrats on the baby or whatever but you do too much. Bye bye now!

I have also heard that if you go to far over you may be subject to still birth as well so im pretty sure i would prefer to be induced vs that possibility!!!  Congrats on baby!!!

Because she wants her baby out and "ya'll" are putting her down for it. Just let her be happy that she's getting induced and seeing her baby soon.if she's willing to get induced and take the risk of c-section then so be it.

Due dates are just an estimate... So you might say your 39 weeks doesn't mean the baby is... 42 weeks is actually not overdue anything past that is overdue. Naturally letting the baby come means they're 100% ready induction just means they are ready enough. Don't understand why your y'alling everyone

Congrats girly! I hope you and baby have an easy labor and delivery. I'm only 38 weeks and I just want my little boy out! I'm gonna be talking to my doctor tomorrow on what we can do once I hit 40 weeks.

Okay, I understand you going with what your doctor says, just remember that your due date can be off. Induction when your body isn't ready can lead to a higher risk of needing a c-section. I hope you and baby have a safe and easy labor.

We were advised to wait until full term and that you do have the option to wait. Induction isn't natural and may lead to other complications. Let it run its course. Best of luck!
