keeping busy during labor

What are some ways you ladies have kept busy, or plan to keep busy, while at the hospital in labor? Like books, card games, crossword puzzles, etc. I'm trying to go all natural so I'm seeking ideas to keep me relaxed and help take my mind away from focusing solely on the pain. Thanks in advance. :)

My hospital doesn't have the birthing pools and don't allow the shower during labor. I was told by my nurse that if I'm going all natural go stay home as long as possible and safe for those comfort purposes. But I will probably being my exercise ball and I find getting up on my knees and forearms helps also. And I can do that right there in bed.

Are u into yoga? If they wont let u walk it out, will they let u do other things? Sit on a fit ball? In the shower? Or even a birthing pool? I plan to be in the shower until the anesthesiologist gets there.

I'm hoping my doctor will allow me to walk it out. During my tour at the hospital the nurse was telling me most of the time they don't allow it. So fingers crossed I can do some buttering-up and get them to let me! Lol I'm praying hard for an all natural experience!!!

What worked for me was walking during labor at the hospital, also squatting during contractions and sitting on a rocking chair that helped a lot. When a contraction would come I'd walk it out. This is by 4th baby. All natural and praying this one is natural also. God willing everything goes fast for us.

Word search, soduko,  reading, careful  not to bring anything that can't be dropped or thrown. Hard candy, if you can talk your doc into it. Don't bring anything that may frustrate you.
