Congrats! Glad the nurse was a great advocate for you. Often times FTMs tAke longer than repeats so it worked great for you that you stAyed!
Ha! You sure proved them wrong!! Congratulations on your baby boy!! :-)
Idiot drs.
Glad he didn't send yiu home!
The nurse convinced him to let me stay to be monitored, contractions ended up getting stronger so the IV didn't stop anything and he was gonna send me home BUT admitted me only because I was 4 cm. Glad he let me stay because 10 minutes later I was 6 cm got a epi and was 10 cm (this all happened within a hour) my son was born at 7am
My concern isn't about IV fluids, as a RN, I'm concerned he's saying he won't do anything to help you along... After too long in labor the baby could become distressed and result would equal csection! If I were you I'd just let nature take it's course. NO IV FLUIDS will stop the contractions, I had it throughout my labor while being induced with pitocin for ALL 4 kids prior to this one... After 12 hours if not progressing (dilating) then inquire about pitocin before the csection route... Good luck
Dont let him do anything you don't want him to, it's YOUR baby & YOUR delivery so its YOUR say. your baby would be in no danger coming at 38 weeks its wrong of him to do that because your full term and the baby's ready to come, its wrong for him to keep the baby in there any longer if your body & the baby are ready. You should absolutely speak up.
Thats so ridiculous. A baby can be born at anytime now..doesn't have to be right at 40 weeks
Maybe he's a stickler on keeping baby in there till 39 weeks since that's full term now. I would demand a second opinion either way. Don't let him bully you!
I'm not dehydrated..I'm still here having real contractions but the doctor says he will not do anything that helps me progress because I'm not 40 weeks, Which makes no sense because I'm not asking for help..seems like he's doing all he can to try to send me home
Iv fluids will not stop or postpone labor so ask ?s and demand answers! Is the amniotic fluid low? Are these not real contractions but a reaction to your dehydration this iv fluids? Ask ask ask until u get answers!
You should definitely ask them what exactly they're doing and why bc there shouldn't be any reason for them to stop it this far along. Voice your concerns and let them know how you feel on the matter, and find out what's really going on, bc you definitely have a say in the matter and have every right to know what their intentions are. Good luck!! I hope it all works out for you, hopefully you'll have your baby in your arms soon. :-)
Maybe you are dehydrated. If it's real labor fluids won't stop it.
I'm surprised they are stopping labor! Wow.
