small embryo for 8 weeks

Hi,

I went in for my 8 weeks ultrasound. We could hear the heart beat(149bpm) and see the yolk sac and the gestational sac. They both measured correct for 8 weeks. However the doctor said that the embryo is measuring at 7w0d. She wants to do another u/s in a week and a half. We had IUI so we know the date is right. We are really worried crazy. Has anything like this happened to anyone before? Is it normal to have an embryo smaller so early?Any suggestions?

Wow so funny I was just about to post the same thing. U\S is saying I am 7 weeks, my last u\s would have me closer to 8 weeks but the dates don't add up. MLP was Feb 21 which means I should be over 8 weeks?? I was worried but the doc said the u\s can be off by up to 5 days and I probably “O” late this cycle. We saw everything you did too today so we were very happy as well! I have to go back May 12 for another u\s to check measurements, the heartbeat was 152 so I am very happy...and tired for now!

I have had 3 ultrasound so far due to an ovarian cyst I have.  The first one my gestational sac was almost 1 week behind my LMP.  Then the second one the baby was measuring like 4 days behind my LMP (I was around 7w 2d and baby was measuring 6w 5d).  Now this week I just went for another one the baby was measuring 11w which is now 1 day over my LMP (should be 10w 6d).  The heartbeat is a good sign.  Maybe your little peanut didn't hit it's "growth spurt" yet.  Good luck next week and I hope it grows well for you.
