How often should you take professional pictures

With my son we took pictures just about every other month. But this time around with my daughter, we just don't have the time nor the money to get out and do it as often. I DO plan on getting hers done again at 6 months. What do you think, ladies? How often should we get our LO'S pictures taken?

i havent done the poll yet, but i did 6 weeks, and then his 6 months, and his easter pics with his brother....but we havent done family pictures yet, so at 6 months, we'll end up with 3 rounds of pics.....then i'll do 9 months, and then 12 months, but after that, probably just holidays, like easter, birthday, and christmas, with family pics somewhere in there....

I said every six months b/c thats what I'll probably do.  But they actually took pics at his daycare and gave us the option of buying them or not.  He was right about 4 months then.  They were of course cute, but I didnt plan on him having his made and he didnt have a cute outfit on, so I only bought a few small ones just to have for keepsakes. I would rather be there when they're done so I can make him smile, etc.
