Do you mind belly touching?

Do you mind people coming up to you touching your belly? I'm a bit torn about this because I love the bump but hate that people want to touch it, especially people I don't know. I really don't mind it as much if it were family but strangers I just hate it.

Well my supervisor is 10 weeks behind me and I had one a shirt one day last week and she almost fell over looking at me. Then she comes to my desk and says stuff like look at her belly. I always say Thanks but when she said can I touch I almost lost it. I really really can't stand it. I ended up saying OMG NO! I told her I think its completely rude and she said even if i ask and I told her yes. I guess I just feel a little different about my stomach. Now when I get home, my daughter immediately touching my stomach and ask the baby how was work with mommy. I think its so adorable so I don't mind. When I walked in from work yesterday my husband looked at me and begin touching my stomach. I have to admit at first it was weird but it was fine. I guess I've had a regular stomach for a while now and no one would dare to ask to touch that lol.

I've never had a random stranger touch my belly, and usually the ppl who do touch, ask first. But I don't think it would bother me all that much if someone I didn't know came up and touched my belly for a second. I just hate when they touch my belly button, for some reason it grosses me out! LOL. Now... when the baby is out in the world... that's another story, do not touch my baby if I don't know you, and if I know you your hands better be clean!! I once had this girl who was my cousins gf at the time come up and put her finger in my babies mouth!!! OMG... are you serious?!!! I was freaking out inside!! Worst part is, she's not the cleanest person and I knew she hadn't washed her hands... but i just didn't know what to say... it was awful!!

Well I haven't voted because I guess I'm somewhere in between. I haven't been touched by total strangers, but I have a lot of aquaintences who randomly touch my belly. If I'm wearing the right shirt, its getting to be really noticeable. He is a very calm baby though, so it's not for the exact same reasons as cocacolapanda's. Even DH hasn't felt him yet. Its more just because I'm so excited and proud of my belly I want to share my joy with people. This baby had been planned for, for a long time and all my friends know it and they are excited for me as well.
I had this conversation with DH and a friend of mine last night. I have had a bunch of guys touch my belly as well, and I'm not really comfortable with that. They are sneaky about it too, they just randomly touch it really quickly as they are going by. I even had a guy friend stick his ear next to my belly while I was lying on my couch, to try to "guess" the sex of the baby lol. At least most girls ask me.

Well people I know I dont mind but strangers are not allowed to touch me with or without baby bump I'm a stickler for personal space

I love it, especially when the baby's kicking and they can feel it.  I don't like it when random strangers try to touch my belly (It's happened only once I think), I just tell them I don't feel comfortable with people I don't know touching me.  SO I guess I agree with you about strangers but overall I love others to feel what I feel.  Sometimes it makes them more sympathetic to me not getting sleep (because my first child and this one don't stop moving, and it's getting to the point where it's keeping me awake).  DH also could care less a bout the baby kicking me.  It's just something he's not into, he'd rather help me make salsa for a craving or something.

UGH.... my mother thinks it's her right to rub my belly.... last week she did it and I started rubbing hers and said "HOW DO YOU LIKE IT!?!?!" I can't stand anyone touching my belly other than my husband or my son. I guess it's kind of the same as someone coming up to my newborn and touching it to me. Hands off, it's MINE. hahaha

I'm a big fan of give me my personal space. The only person I don't mind touching without asking is my husband. My belly isn't that noticeable yet to strangers. People that do know think it's ok and I usually say something or try to put myself in a position where they can touch.

I havent had any strangers try to touch my belly yet but I have a feeling in the next month or two then I will have more people try to touch it. I really dont want some random stranger touching my belly b/c thats invading my personal space. I dont mind if I know them and they ask or its like my mom or DH. It just seems weird to me for random people to touch me pregnant or not.

LOL I can't vote yet....I've had people I know touch my belly but not a random stranger. My Mom touched my belly a couple weeks ago and talked to it....I thought it was kinda funny! I wasn't feeling much then so I felt weird! Now it would be different cuz there's more kicks. I work with a little boy that has autism and I notice he pats my belly more. Like he does with his dads beer belly! LOL So he must just do it cuz it sticks out now. I have tried to tell him to make sure he's gentle because there's a baby in there but I doubt he understands.

I'm not ok with strangers touching it unless they too are pregnant. When random people come up and touch it though I usually say something. Lately I've noticed it doesn't happen as much so I wonder if I am giving off some kind of vibe.

I completely agree with you on this one, I don't mind when it's a family member, but when it's a stranger I feel very uncomfortable, and my little guy does to, he will stop moving as well lol. I just experienced this the other day while going to my Dr's appt, we got on the elevator and some random women just started touching my stomach ugh!
