Well that's good that it's nothing serious!! :) Glad everything is ok, and hopefully you can get it cleared up soon!
Ok update. I went in and I gave a urine sample. I don't have a UTI...which I didn't think I had anyway. He did say that by the sounds of everything that it is a yeast infection and that sometimes it can be a little more pesky to get rid of because of all the hormones. I'm going to still do my treatments until I see my doc hopefully Friday. Thanks ladies for all your input.
I say go in!! I had that same thing, cloudy urine, and slight pain when I urinated... turns out i had a vaginal infection and just yesterday started bleeding and cramping... the infection can cause second trimester miscarriage or premature and under weight babies... so it's pretty serious stuff!! Not saying that it's what you have but you can't be too careful. Lower back pain can also be an indication of an infection. So i say YES, GO IN!! Better to be safe than sorry... hope everything is just fine!
Well, with a UTI, you wouldn't be itchy on your vagina. And even though you think you haven't been scratching, many people actually scratch in their sleep...very common. Because of the itch, I lean to yeast infection more than anything. And yes, with a UTI or kidney infection, you can get flank pain. It's not so much lower back pain. It's more right below your rib cage on the sides of your back. That's where your flank is. You may not feel too bad just yet, but it does get worse. I have had plenty of UTI's where my urine didn't smell, so I wouldn't use that to make any decision.
Weird that you don't get to see an OB until so far along! If you live in a small town, the wait shouldn't be too bad...and since you are pregnant, just complain of a little cramping along with the other symptoms. They should get you in quickly! You are a liability!
I will leave you with one final note: If you have that feeling of something being your fault because it affects your baby because you didn't see anyone right away - GO. I always say that you should trust your instincts.
Ok so the answer to the TMI question is it's more the outside but I actually haven't been scratching. It's itchy yes but it's quite mild actually. I'm just worried cuz I've been using the canesten since Tuesday and it hasn't really done anything for it.
The only thing that's made me think UTI is because for a few days I've been having lower back pain and my friend mentioned that's what you get with a UTI or kidney infection but I think I'd feel a lot worse if that was the case. My urine does not smell at all.
It was actually hard to see my primary doctor...I haven't yet seen an OB...here they refer you later on. And the lady I was talking to was being a Biotch!! LOL
I am covered but the wait is what I'm not sure of...I am in a small town and the prob is whether they have a doc there attending or one just "on call". Since it'll be Sunday tomorrow I dunno. I just don't want it to be something else and it be my fault if it affects my baby cuz I didn't see anyone right away.
Ahhhh...no fun!
Ok, TMI kinda question here:
Where does it burn when you pee? On the skin of your vagina from being scratched raw because of the yeast infection itch? Or does it burn in your urethra, like an internal burn? If it is inside, I agree with Dana...sounds more like a UTI or kidney infection. If it is the skin, then STOP scratching...lol. If it is the skin, have you tried like a Vagisil sort of numbing creme for just the skin? The cloudy pee is likely from the cream that you insert. But, you just can't really tell.
Now, I have had MANY UTI's and kidney stones. I have had to regularly see a urologist. One thing that I did learn is that once you have a problem going on, it's too late for the cranberry juice, and all it will really do is burn the hell out of your already irritated urinary tract. To prevent urinary problems though, it is good to regularly drink cranberry juice. And yes, the yogurt is a great idea.
Now, to go to the ER or not to go? I don't know how crowded your ER's are, and I don't know how your insurance is...so only you can make that call. If it were me, I would probably just go. I live in a tiny town, and my ER is never crowded. And my insurance is pretty good, so I don't pay too much to go to the ER. And yes, you can go to your primary for a UTI or YI, just like Dana said. I guess it all really depends on how uncomfortable you are, and how uncomfortable you can tolerate to be over the weekend. If it is a UTI, you don't want to wait because they can get vicious with a quickness. And they hurt.
I don't have a good answer...but I would probably go if I was that uncomfortable.
Well, if it burns when you pee I would tend to think maybe its more a UTI? If you want to wait awhile at the ER, you could go and get tested for both to see whats going on. I'm not sure I've ever had a yeast infection or UTI so I can't really help diagnose it...does urine also have a strong odor? Which doc is busy on monday? YOu could always try to get in with your primary MD instead of the OB if they could get you in sooner....
Meanwhile, I'd drink cranberry juice which tends to help with UTIs...and eat some yogurt for good bacteria....
