Where did the time go? baby updates!

Well ladies, I think we have all had our babies pretty much, so now let's talk about them since we don't have to complain about being whales!

First of all- I am almost back to my pre-birth size. I have about 7 pounds to go! I can't wait to get back on my eliptical!

Jacob was 7 lbs 1 oz at birth and he dropped to 6lbs 6oz when we left the hospital. And as of Wednesday he was 9lbs even! And he grew from 18" to 20.5" in that time so it's safe to say he is growing like a weed. He still sleeps a lot, but he is starting to stay away for longer periods and look around at his new world! I was very surprised last night though- he went to bed around 9, then got up at 1 am. As we were waiting for the bottle to warm up, I laid him next to me in bed and next think I know it's 5:30 and Jacob is still sleeping! So last night was sort of his first time sleeping through the night. SHOCKER FOR MOMMA!

Overall, I feel great. No depression, no disappointment. I'm totally in love with my new baby and I can't wait to do it all again! (Not to mention- I was looking at pictures from Wyatts first year, and I had no idea how much I miss that stage!) I decided also that I am not going to use any birth control as well. I think statistically, when you breastfeed you usually stay infertile for a while. We plan on using the pull-out method as well, so we'll see how effective this is!

Brayden is 9 lbs 4 oz as of a week ago and 21 1/2 inches.  So, he is up almost 2 lbs and and inch and a quarter! :)  Still not sleeping great at night between eating and I think he has some tummy issues :/.

We are using formula but hes been drinking 4 oz every 3 hours but sometimes seems hungrier sooner but he's also a spitter so eating more just makes that worse!!!  It makes me want to pull my hair out!!  Any suggestions??  We've tried doing less oz. more often but he seems to think he can still try to eat the same amount at each feeding and will rarely do less than four.  Sometimes he will stop at two oz and take a cat nap but wake up soon after and want the rest!!

Thanks for the reasurance ladies just want to breastfeed only but I am giving her formula with every feeding even if she doesnt take any. So I am hoping that when we get back to the doctors the 10th then she will be back to weight and over so we will see. Hoping the fenugreek helps with my milk so every time I try to give her a bottle she wont drink it. I guess we will see what happens. Pray for me so that I can keep just breastfeeding till 6 months. I am trying to pump but right now the only pump I have is a manual one from the hospital so hard to pump for long. Going to have to get an electric one.

Tiffie - Good luck!  There are a lot of other things out there to help with supply if fenugreek doesn't work.  If your pumping make sure you pump long enough, if I remember correctly the fat comes out more towards the end so if you don't pump long enough you won't have as fatty milk.  Some babies just take longer to get up to weight.  My son managed to get to his birth weight fairly quickly, but at every dr's apt he continued to go down a curve.  He was eating almost twice what the dr wanted him to.  Now with our little girl Nori, she eats on the low end of what she should and is gaining just fine (And I know my milk isn't any more fatty because I can see the fat after it sits in the fridge, and it's the same amount as when I pumped last time).  So I guess what I'm trying to say is every kid is different and as long as she continues to grow and do well try not to worry too much.

Navy is doing well! We had her one month check up and she is now weighting 2 lbs over her birth weight and measuring in length 2 1/4 inches longer. I can't wait until she gets big enough to fit into something other than newborn clothes. Breastfeeding is going well and I haven't given in and supplimented once! Other than when she is awake and cries until someone picks her up, she's not really fussy at all and hopefully it becomes the norm but she slept 6 hours straight last night! I'm almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight and cannot wait to hit the gym and tone up!

Jayden is doing great!! He is such a wonderful baby and is very laid back. He was 7lbs, 2oz at birth and at his one week check he was 7lbs, 9oz!!! I have so much milk that I could feed quintuplets LOL. I am feeling great also, having a natural birth this time around has helped me heal a lot faster. I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight already!!! Now I have 30lbs to go that I never lost from my DD :)

Well, today Brady is a week old!! We came home from the hospital late at night and the next day my midwife came to visit and noticed he was quite jaundiced. We had to go back into the hospital for the weekend pretty much. It was quite the disturbance....he had the light therapy for 24 hrs and then they had me supplement with formula along with breast feeding. I had NO sleep at the hospital...it was terrible. Being home is so great...so much better and I don't mind waking to feed him. I've stopped using the formula because he's been doing just fine breast feeding. I was going to just give him a bottle at night to get some sleep in but I don't overly mind getting up with him. He's usually wanting to feed about every 2 1/2 hrs. He must be getting quite enough because my midwife visited Sunday again and he was 1 oz over his birth weight already! LOL and he's peeing out of his diapers!!! I change him a million times!! I tried bigger diapers and its the same thing. I just have to keep up on him I guess!
As far as me....I feel great. Not sure how much I weigh but I've slimmed right down...can't wait to get some exercise in!! My stitches are still hurting but I've been trying the sitz baths to help them out!
My hubby and I are so in love with him! The whole family is! I'm getting calls all day long...checking in on how we're doing!!

Tiffie! I'm praying for Naomi! Sounds like you're quite worried. Don't fret too much hun....the baby can probably sense your feelings too. Keep positive. If you're using formula then she should put on some weight soon!

Well Naomi is now 23 1/2 in long but still not back at birth weight. So having to give her more formula b/c I guess my milk isnt fatty enough. Gonna try fenugreek to help. We will see what happens. I dont want to stop breastfeeding so pray for me ladies. Other than weight she is right on track.

Melissa is 6 weeks today I am not sure how much weight she has put on but she no longer fits in her newborn clothing. She is not sleeping thru the night and she stays up longer after feedings during the day. I feel she stays up too long sometime 4 hours so I find myself feeding her at all times which does not give me time to do anything else. I love her so much that I do not mind, but at night time I am so tired and ready for bed that I wish she would be too however she fights her sleep. I guess I have a fussy baby too.

I am back to my pre pregnancy weight and perhaps a couple pounds less. This Friday I go to my ob and I guess that he will let me know if I am able to return to work in 2 weeks. It seems like only yesterday that we were discussing the progress of our pregnancies and now here we are sharing our baby moments.

Take Care Everyone.

Leiren is doing great! He doesn't sleep very well at night, he's up about every 2-3 hours (usually every 2) but he's finally starting to stay awake a little more during the day so I'm hoping he'll start sleeping better at night soon because I'm very tired!!! He's also a pretty fussy baby... everyone I know tells me how calm their babies are and how they don't cry and blah blah blah, and I'm just like "shut it" ... I'm totally jealous!! Leiren wants to be held a lot, my daughter was the same way! I told my hubby last night, that we're not having any more babies together because we make difficult babies! LOL. I love my little Leiren bug to pieces though (of course), and for the most part he's a really good boy, just colicy at night so he fusses a lot.

He's gaining weight, and doing good! he was 6lbs 7oz at birth and now he's probably close to 9lbs. He was weighed a week and a half ago and weighed 8lbs 6oz.

We're all adjusting to our new lives. My daughter adores her little brother.

Marley is doing wonderfully! She is such an awesome baby! She doesn't cry unless she's got a poopy diaper. She weighed in @ 7 pounds 4.8 oz and when we left the hospital she was 6 pounds 14 oz. Her two week check up she was 7 pounds 13 oz so she's definitely not starving!

Time does fly, especially when it is going so well. At my babies last doctors appointment she was weighing 8lbs 2oz. and she grew about an inch. She was a little over 2 weeks. I wonder how much she weighs now. She's a good eater. She's taking in about 3 1/2 oz. at every feeding, about every 3 hours. I did get her ears pierced, but I cried more than she did.

As far as me, I feel heeled from the c-section. I still feel a little sore but nothing bad. I have about 5 lbs. to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy size. I still feel like I need to lose a lot more than 5 lbs. lol... My milk seems to be getting low. I think I have a clogged milk duct because they hurt so bad and they feel full even after I pump. I am only getting about 2-3 oz every 3-4 hours.

Congrats!  7 lb isn't bad!  With my first I had much more than that (I still have about 10 lb to go to make it to that point).  This time around I'm actually about 3 lb less than when I got prego!!  I only gained 15 lb so that was nice.  I don't look it though, I'm waiting for my belly to go back in.

Nori was 8 lb 2 oz and I'm not sure where she's at yet, she grew at least one inch though. She'll be 3 weeks in 2 days, I can't believe tomorrow is the last day in Oct!  She's having issues pooping some, and when she does she wants to be held.  She'll sleep really well at night some times but not so much others.  The biggest problem is she likes to bite, last time I tried feeding her from the boob I had cherry coolaid when I pumped!  At night when I pump she ALWAYS wakes up.  We haven't figured out what to do about that, but I'm looking foreword to a night when DH takes her and I just need to wake to pump.

I'm feeling great, I feel much better physically and emotionally now than I did after my son was born.  I'm just waiting for her to get a little bigger and sleep better.  I want my nights back!  It's hard driving to work when you only got a few hours of sleep!  Thank goodness I've got 3 weeks left before starting that.  I just started the mini-pill

szw2008 - FYI I know a few mom's who breastfeed monsters (who ate above what the average babies ate) and got pregnant a few months after giving birth.  Be very careful!  And the pull out method isn't always the best either.  Make sure you also keep track of your cycle, always be on the look out for ovulation.  When breastfeeding it can happen at any time.
