Do you know if pets can tell your close to labor?

Ok ladies for all of u who have had babies before or have had them recently if you have a pet did you notice them acting any differently right before you went into labor? My little kitten has been acting strange since Thursday last week. She always wants to be near me and lay on me. She also purrs the whole time she is on me. Thurs. when I was fixing my lunch she jumped on my shoulder and rode around purring. I read a couple things saying that some animals can smell the change in hormones about a week before and will act differently. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. My moms dog also stays right beside my feet or jumps on my leg when I am there too the past week. Just wondering if maybe they know something I dont. I will be 39 weeks tomorrow so I can go at any time.

I actually kept my daughter from going to school Monday and Tuesday and she seemed to do better today. Hopefully it was just an act because she would literally cry of pain. On the other hand I really just hope it's because this baby is coming like now!!

You know my daughter has been saying her stomach hurts this week too. However she could be acting since it usually when its bedtime. Lol I also tell her my stomach hurts when she notice I'm contracting.

lol I think dogs and kids just sense our anxious moods.... my dog has been in LOVE with me lately (she was also like this when we were still TTC which is another emotional and exciting time).... so since we are all close to delivery, we are all really anxious and our animals and kids are picking up on it.... the psychological aspect more so than the physical... does that make sense? I feel like I'm not making sense here.

My son has been super needy lately and reverted back to wetting his pants this last week and my dog won't leave me alone. I'm also a little more stressed and anxious than normal. I dunno...

I was wondering that about children. Since Saturday mt daughter has been sick. She's complaining of stomach and back pain, but no vomitting, diarrhea or fever. I have taken her 3 differesnt doctors and no one can find anything wrong with her. She can be playing and all of a sudden she bends down holding her stomach and cries. Could it be that she sences that I'm going to have the baby sometime soon? I have no idea what to do about her pain anymore.

Some dogs are sensitive to sezizures and will pay extra attention to people when they display symptoms. Contractions in a way are VERY similar to sezizures so its possible your dog is picking up on them.

Well the reason I was asking is my moms dog and my kitten both normally will cuddle if they want with me but its like if I go any where they have to be right there. My moms dog while I was there Friday would only go outside to the bathroom and as soon as she came back in would be laying right beside me. Idk its just odd for her to be like that. I guess I will see what happens.

I was wondering the same thing, but more so for younger children.  My son was doing great with everything, then about 3 days before I went into "false" labor he totally changed and won't leave my side.  He's always got to be held by me and I've got to be the one to put him to bed.  I know I'm close to having the baby so I think that young children and pets just since the change.  I wouldn't say it'd be a week but I'd say they can just tell the changes happening in your body and mood and know it's going to happen soon.

I think its just another old wives tale. Ive had weeks during my pregnancy where both my cat and dog would stick to me like glue only a week later to have hardly any intrest in me. Could just be that my animals arent very intune with me though. I hope your animals are predicting labor soon for you!

Also I read that according to a vet that cats will purr b/c they will sit with a sick or injured cat b/c it makes them feel better or get well faster. She has been purring like a motor boat lately especially when she sits on me.
