How are you doing on your weight gain?

Now that we're well into the second trimester the suggested weight gain is slightly over 1 pound a week. I know that's right about what I've been doing for the last 3 weeks. At this rate I'll be the same weight I was when my daughter was born probably around 175ish just shy of 180. My average non pregnancy weight is around 160 so that keeps me in the normal range.

I'm checking in to see how everyone else is doing with their weight gain. I know for some of us it can be hard to put the pounds on and even harder to make sure we don't gain too much.

I'm already looking forward to losing the weight after the baby is born!

Don't worry even though its hard not to.  For myself I had been concerned about not gaining weight so much in this trimester because of the "rule of thumb" being a pound a week in the last trimester.  But like you said too I could be losing muscle mass and not aware of that.  I am more squishy of course even though my weight has not changed and the baby is plumping out my belly and moving which is my #1 reassurance.

If this helps, one thing I always forget is to make sure you weigh yourself at the same time every day.  If you do morning weigh ins keep it like that.  I always weigh less in the morning and at night weigh a few pounds more.

Went to the doctors today and on her scale I only weighed 116.. That is what I weighed at 30 weeks..  at 31 and 32 weeks at the hospital scale I weighed 117.4..

it is frustrating me...  I hit 118 on my scale last night after consistently weighing between 116.8 and 117.6 on my scale for the last week...

Dont get me wrong I like the idea of returning to a very small size after birth.. but the weight gain is oneo f the many reassurances that things are progressing..

I could be losing muscle mass from being on bed rest but hopefully when I go back at 35 weeks (being optimistic as a i determined to not have this baby before then), I had to see an increase.

I definitely am very glad I do not have a high stress job situation right now.  I was about 80 hours a week at one point right before we were pregnant and then lost two of my jobs.  Granted you have the financial stress to cope with, but if I have to look at it in a positive way, maybe that was supposed to happen so I could carry the pregnancy to term.  I've had to "learn" to take it easy.  Now don't get me wrong... it seems like now I am putting extra hours in on our house and getting things done as much as I can before the baby gets here.  Not long now at all!

I had BH that actually woke me up the other night so my body is preparing :D

It may be helping.. My contractions have gone down quite a bit from the beginning of last week...  though I still have some cramping, which is unsettling off and on...  It may have helped who knows.. I had a scan on Monday to check for cervical changes over the week I was in the hospital, and there was no change, which is why they let me go home.

Overall its probably better for my pregnancy to be off for now... I work a pretty hectic high stress job (though not every day is bad but there can be alot of crisis situations)... My work also has 50+ stairs that on an average shift I go up and down over 10 times if trying to avoid doing the stairs.. As well its very fast pace and though are very flexible cannot always guarantee solid breaks due to the environment..  I was having alot of leg pain and back pain from the stairs, etc that I am not having anymore so thats a plus...

Bedrest at home is not nearly as bad as it was in the hospital...  I am just lucky I do not have other children.. You cannot do this if you have other kids...  I really only have to make it about another week and a half like this then I can start doing light things around the house.. So ill probably start washing the baby stuff at that point, organizing the room, etc...

Poor thing, is it helping taking it easy?  I just noticed on my tracker that I have been holding the same weight for almost a month.  My belly is getting bigger, but surprised the weight isn't changing.  Anyone else had this happen?

On Sunday we will be 33 weeks.
