So im a biotech chick..this is my first i was gonna formula feed bcuz my mom did me..im smart..no allergies..etc..however that was 34 yrs ago..nowadays its all about profit ..im sure uve heard of genetically modified foods..& uve heard of roundup pesticide by monsanto? The #1 product is soy..google those key terms & soy in infant formula the video will break it down by brand as to how much soy is in each..also why babies vomit it up n have to be switched to diff brands..it changed my mind
It is a personal choice. I breastfed with my first and plan to do the same with my 2nd. My Mum also breastfed me, which may have contributed to the decision. It has some benefits as it carries antibodies to the newborn as well as helping the mother lose weight as your uterus contacts as the baby feeds. It is also cheaper than buying formula.
However as I found pumping hard we weren't consistent with the bottle when we introduced it at 4 weeks and so all the feeding was on me! Very restrictive. This time I plan to be more consistent with the bottle and occasionally use formula just so I can get rest if I need it.
I experienced disapproval from my in laws for breastfeeding as my mother in law bottle fed my husband and his twin brother. They were not keen on public feeding and would constantly ask my husband why we weren't bottle feeding.
Whatever you choose, do it for you and your little one! Don't listen to what anyone else (save health professionals) says about your choices. Good luck!
Well if you think about it, all the people that can't or don't breastfeed there kids grow up normal. The only thing that my son will miss out on is that bonding experience but in return he will get bonding experience with both me and his father. I have already talked to my doctor about it and he thinks its perfectly fine.
This is my first and I'm going to try it because there has been a lot of research that show the benefits not only when they are younger but older as well. I suggest you talk to a consultant about just pumping instead of feeding straight from your breast. Introducing the baby to the bottle too early will make it difficult if you actually have to feed from the breast and it may also affect your milk supply if you only pump.
Well I was thinking, my husband wants to be able to feed him to so we are going to try pumping the milk and feeding it to him in a bottle.
Its the best possible start you can give your baby!! So many health benefits to you and your baby. Also cognitive advantages to your baby. If you are not sure if its for you I am reading the essential guide to breastfeeding. It has a lot of facts and science behind it. Its great!
I'm 19 this is my first baby. Its a boy : ) I was just wondering what everyone elses view is on breastfeeding.
