It's a girl! Now which name..

Hello fellow mommas! My husband and I just found out yesterday that we can expect a beautiful little girl this October 6th, and we could not be happier! Only thing is now we have a little issue with the name. At first, we were fully and absolutely decided from the beginning that if we had a girl we would name her Zelda Elizabeth.  Hubby was crazy about the game growing up, and admittantly so we're my sister and I. Also he's a big Robin Williams fan and after hearing about his passing we also discovered his real life daughter was also named Zelda. It just sort of pushed him into adoring it and wanting it and that was fine with me, I liked the name as well. But now, his parents are constantly bullying him because they think it's a stupid name and keep telling us she will hate us for it and be made fun of, blah blah. And it's really hurting him, and definitely changing his mind. Now I don't mind if he truly wanted to name her something different, but I don't want him to change the name he loves just because of his old school parents coming down on him ): we came up with another name we do like, Anastasia Rose. But I'm just not sure anymore after all this drama. What do you ladies think? Is Zelda really that terrible or should we stick to our guns and our original thought for our upcoming beautiful little weirdo? (Can tell already by her movements and seeing her dance around she will be crazy) =p Thanks in advance! And sorry for the long post.

It's YOUR baby not his parents it doesn't matter what they think of the name..  You are the parents and the one giving birth to her so you name her whatever name you two like!  He's gonna have to just tell them to shove it :)

I honestly love the name! And my parents named me Xavier and I didn't mind having a different name, I'm sure it'll be fine. And whatever you guys choose it'll be perfect for your little girl,

I think that's what we have to do too. Thanks to all you ladies for your opinions and feedback! Nice to hear some helpful comments rather than the immense amount of negatives I've gotten lately. The name means a lot to us for different little reasons, and at this point I think it's more about us standing our ground and making our own decisions for once. We already let ourselves get pushed around enough with our wedding last year, there's no way I can let all these other people in on trying to parent OUR child how they see fit. Fact is we will name her what we like and what she looks like to us. Using the name in everyday conversation did really help and gave us a bit of an insight on what it'd be like. (:

My husband's family hated the name we picked out for our girl and it really hurt but we kept it anyways and now they are really warming up to it. They are very old school and traditional but I'm so glad we kept it. They will warm up. Stick to what your gut says.

I love the name Zelda! I just found out I'm having a girl and me and the honey have talked about the name Zelda. It's so hard to commit but if you feel sure about it you should go for it

You pick a name that you love and who cares what anyone else thinks. I have 3 names picked out for a boy so far and everyone has an opinion on each of them. I like Brody, Preston or Ryker and I have heard negative about all of them but my husband and I still love the names. What helps us is we call the name or say it in sentences pretend we are mad etc. Lol sounds funny but helps us choose. Good luck and choose the name you like. Remember everyone will have an opinion. Maybe pick a middle name less put there. If your daughter hates it she can go by that. :) good luck congrats on the baby girl
