First ultrasound today!
What can I expect to see at 6 weeks? Will I hear the heartbeat? I'm wondering if I should bring my partner along or is it best he come at the 12 week scan (he has trouble taking time off work)

At this point you'll see the yolk sac and likely that will be it.
You're not gonna see anything recognizable. It's best to leave your hubby at work this time around.
