How is Everyone?

Hello,

I just thought it would be nice to do a post s to how everyone is doing this holiday season.

Fynn will be 3 months on the 27th, I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. He is getting so big and everyday he does something new to amaze me...just the other day he found his tongue and now does raspberries with his tongue all the time!

He is getting much better neck control, we can put him in his exersaucer and he can hold his head up pretty well, with a few bobs here and there. His sleeping habit is probably the one thing that we are having a hard time with...well mostly me because I am the one who gets up with him during the night and stays u p when he is ready to sleep.....right now he seems to stay up until like 12 or 1 and will wake up 2 or 3 times to eat and usually gets up for the day around 11 or 12 in the afternoon...I am not too sure how to change his schedule so he is going to bed earlier.

I went back to work last weekend to help out with the xmas rush and I am so happy to be back out there. Everyone says why after 2.5 months but i was going crazy at home all day..i love my job!!

I am really upset tho for the holidays because we cannot afford to get any gifts at all for any family members.....not even for Fynn on his first xmas. We are living on SHawns salary until I start getting paid and he only mkaes minimum wage and we cant really even afford to pay our bills let alone extra money for gifts......i wish we had more money but i suppose my family will have to understand that we are broke right now...

other than that Fynn is a super happy baby!!!!

So to fix my first post, Kylie is 13 pounds 10.5 ounces and is 25 inches long. (she was properly weighed today) and is addicted to green beans. :)

Cameron turned 4 months today.  He had his checkup today and weighs 17lb 4oz and is 27 inches long!  Holy cow, he's going to eat me out of house and home at this rate!  He's in the 95th percentile for weight and 97th for height!  He rolled over from back to front on 12/21 - only to the left.  We need to start working on the other direction :)  He gets to start rice cereal tomorrow!  I'm really excited and bummed though - I have to work so I won't be the one to feed him his first meal (grandma will do it).  I'm also sad here and there at the thought of not having a baby again as I'm seeing my little baby growing up so fast!

Cam was doing great with sleeping 11 hours at night but then got a cold and started waking up again and hasn't really gone back to a full night in a while now.  He was regressing and waking up every 3 hours for a few nights, taking like 2 oz of formula and going back to bed.  Last night he slept 8 hours, so hopefully we're getting back on track.

I think when we put away Christmas stuff in the attic, we're going to get out the bouncer/saucer thing and see how he does.  Not sure, but I think we might put the swing away, he's not all that interested (neither was Jillian).  Overall though, he is a happy boy, babbling, drooling (teeth are not far off I'm sure!) and loves watching his big sister every chance he gets......

Anna turned 3 months Dec 15th! She was 24 1/4 inches and 14 pounds, so she was in the 95th percentile for height and weight.

Breastfeeding has been going great, we were mostly breastfeeding but she occasionally got a bottle of formula if we were out, or at night after her bath just before she goes to bed. However she's been teething since 2 months, and the past few days her hunger has been insatiable, and she's been pushing away from me, and trying to "eat" the carrots I give her to teeth on so I've started her on some home made purees. I gave her some tastes of squash before this which she loved, and I also had to feed her some prunes before to help with pooping, and she ate it like a pro, so it has been a very smooth transition.

I followed her natural rhythms and put her on her own basic schedule...she wakes up at 6:30am wakes up, breastmilk
7:30am puree
8:30am breastmilk and a nap (30-60 min)
11:30 puree
4:30pm puree
5:30pm nap (10-20 minutes)
7pm story time, bath
8pm asleep. She'll usually wake up at 1:30am, and sometimes 4:30am as well
.
She obviously gets breastmilk in between all those times, and sometimes has little naps in between too, but those are the pretty solid things she does at regular times each day.

Anna also loves loves loves to stand, and can push herself to a stand from a sit with just support for balance. She also loves to sit straight up and hates to lean back. She still hates tummy time and it'll only last a max of 30 seconds.
She's quite the mellow happy baby, and loves to talk and coo all the time.

Dont' feel like she's behind.  My lily isn't crazy about sitting straight up.  I do put her in the high chair becuase the back of the seat reclines.  She likes it becuase it puts her up higher where she can see so much more. She's gotten to wear she kicks so much while playing that she wiggles herself aruond some.  I don't have a bumbo and don't plan on getting on but I do have a jumperoo, I just don't feel she's quite ready for it yet.   She prefers to be propped on a pillow, reclined in a seat or laying on her back.  She really does NOT like tummy time..it'll only last at MOST 2 minutes before she gets really cranky.  She does LOVE her baths though.

Lily is doing great, and rolled over the first time today, i was so proud! i rolled her back on her belly 5 times to make sure she was doing it herself and not just falling over. I put her in the bumbo twice a day and take her out when she yells. her record is 12 minutes, but she doesnt love it like most babies.  she is doing so good with her hands it amazes me how much shes reaching for things now and pulls her paci out and puts it back in. she always hold them together and stares at them. she tries to put all her toys in her mouth. she is also making lots of spit bubbles and drooling.

just reading the way all your babies are doing it makes me feel like mine is behind with sitting up. she really doesnt like it. i sit her up on the couch and she kicks back down after a minute or so. i try to practice with tummy time, the bumbo, and the saucer but i feel like she either just ate (and will spit up) or shes tired.  shes getting a jumperoo for christmas so that should help. my friend said thats what really strengthened her babys neck and back.

i just stopped pumping a few days ago. she is strictly on formula now. i have a little guilt over this, but its a relief at the same time. my supply was getting so low it just wasnt worth it anymore. i know that this is my fault though, and i couldve tried harder to get more. but im happy the way things are now.  she eats 5-6 ounces every 3 hours. i tried to give her some cereal a few times with a spoon and it is somewhat amusing. she pushes most of it out with her tongue. i mashed up a pear and an apple and she seems to like it, but still pushes a lot out with her tongue. we are mostly just doing a little practice, not really trying to get her on baby food just yet.

Lily is doing great.  She turned 3 months on 12/10.  I had her at the doc yesterday for an eye cold.  She was 12 lbs 13 oz with clothes on.  She had just ate 5 oz so I figure she's probably closer to an actual 12 lbs 6 oz or so.  She's slowly transitioning from 0-3 mos to some 3-6 months.

She's eating 5 ounces of breastmilk every 3-5 hours.  My supply has dropped considerably becuase I have been so busy I haven't been pumping as much as I should, but I've still been able to keep up with her.

She goes to sleep for the night around 730-800 (occasionally closer to 9) and she'll usually sleep until anywhere from 3-430 at which time I can usually give her her pacifier and turn on the vibrations and heartbeat sound on her bassinett and she'll go back to sleep until around 6-630.

She's really started "talking" she loves her activity mat...the kind that has the toy bars over it.  She'll lay there for a long time just talking away to her toys and kicking and wiggling.  She hasn't rolled over yet but she's getting great head control.  She's also starting to grasp things if you put it by her hand.

She's a very happy baby, always smiling when she sees people.  She wakes up smiling.  Even yesterday when her left eye was crusted shut she woke up with a HUGE grin.

She's started blowing spit bubbles and drooling so I have a feeling a tooth isn't TOO far off.  I don't see any spots where one is ready to break through yet tho.

I only got her a few little toys for christmas, nothing big...just some rattles, teethers, etc. Just enough to fill her stocking.

Kaelynn will be 4 months on the 30th. She has one tooth already cut and working on another one. She had her 4 month shots today so she's been kind of fussy. She's 12 lbs 5 oz. and 24 inches long. Dr said her head measurement was small only in the 10th percentile and was going to remeasure but she didn't. Her weight was 25th percentile and height was 50th. Shes still tiny but growing nicely. She's still in 0-3 month clothing.

She loves sitting up in her bumbo chair. She doesn't care for tummy time much. I really need to get a few toys for her to play with. She's not rolling over yet she arches her back and gets on her side but always falls back to her back.  She digs her heels into the bed or couch and pushes herself up. We got her a jumperoo but she can't touch the floor yet to bounce herself.

Breastfeeding is going awesome now. She really caught on and now refuses the bottle.  We decided that I'm not going back to work we worked our budget out and for me to go to work put her on formula and pay for a babysitter my whole paycheck would be spent. My time is best spent caring for our daughter. Which I can't be happier.

My Finn has the same exact sleeping schedule!  He falls asleep at 1am and sleeps until noon - always getting up at 8 to eat and sometimes at 5am - he also sometimes stays awake from 8-9am.  I would love to move this earlier, especially now that I am returning to work, but I find that if I wake hip up earlier, then he is just cranky and then I just have a higher maintenance baby up till 1am.  I can sometimes get him down at 11:30 but he still wakes up at 1am for a feed.  When I return from x-mas vacation, I plan to being a nightly bedtime routine at 11 and see if perseverance pays off!

He is so huge - he is even outgrowing his 9 month footed pj's!!  He is such a joy and I am constantly amazed at watching him develop - he is getting great dexterity in his hands and can do new things each day.  Yesterday I walked into the kitchen and he was sitting in his bouncer seat holding the bar with the toys attached in his hand - he had ripped it clear off!  He is working on rolling over and almost rolls from his back to his stomach by himself.  He is very vocal and is always "talking" and laughing.  He also "sings" with me when I sing to him while I rock him - it is just the sweetest thing.

We are going to New Orleans for 10 days over Christmas.  I can't wait to see my family and have them see Finn again but I am a little worried about how Finn will do away from home for that long - he has a really laid back and delightful temperament but is a little slow to adapt to new things.

Try not to worry too much about the holidays.  Your family will understand and Fynn will not mind a bit - you are giving him the best gift - your time and love.  (plus he will get plenty from other people).

Sorry to hear about the finacial troubles. It should all start to pick up and get better before too long.

I recently just had relatives from Florida up. My grandmother passed away and they brought her ashes back up here to be buried with her husband and family. It was wonderful to see them again. It's been 4-5 years since I last did. They left today but next year Phil, Kylie and I are going to drive down there and stay a few days with them.

Kylie is growing like a weed!! She's 13 weeks or so and is 14.6 pounds and 24 inches long. She gets shots in a week so I feel bad for her. She is really social and loves to talk to everything and nothing. Her best friend right now is a blue curtain and she sits there talking to it for hours. Sometimes she yells at it cause it doesn't talk back. She's obsessed with her hands and feet and loves to chew on both. We just recently (last night) started giving her a small amount of rice cereal and breastmilk off a spoon to try. I think we're going to do it every night before bed. We started this because she's learning to sit alone (she sat unsupported on our bed for like 20 minutes one day!) and is trying to eat our food. (leaning toward a spoon and what not) It's a little sooner than I wanted, but that's fine.

She's been sleeping really well at night (finally) normally going to bed at 9-12pm and sleeping all night long. Occasionally she will nurse through the night, but I don't mind. We've been blessed thus far with a very good, very happy baby.
