Water breaking questions !! :)

Ok so I'll be 36 weeks on Wednesday. This is my first pregnancy and I have a bacterial problem and my dr said that as soon as my water breaks I have to go to delivery. So question is for those who have gone through this before.. How will I know? What will it be like? Any facts you can tell me?

I'd rather hear from actual people then go look it up on google

Water may not break until active labor too. When your contractions are strong enough to dialate then head on over. If they take your breath away and you can't really walk through them they are real labor. They will start you on antibiotics right after you get a room and another dose 4 hrs later.

With my first I started leaking about 10 hours before my water full on broke. I didn't really catch it because it didn't match anything I read about what it would be like. Mine was very viscous at first, pretty sure it was combined with my mucous plug and it had literally no smell to it at all. When it full on broke though I gushed repeatedly for ever, there was no mistaking it was my water at that point.

Group B Strep is naturally found in a decent percentage of women. I am a carrier. They should give you antibiotics during labor. Most women have contractions before their water breaks. Contractions are similar to cramps you would get during your period or, if you've never had those, a stomach flu.. When your water breaks it is a quite obvious rush of fluid, but you coukd experience a leak instead. A leak can be noticed because the fluid will be thinner than most vaginal fluid and have a distinct scent and color. I would have to Google it to be sure, but I believe it can be thin and clear or cloudy as well as mixed with some blood. I hope that helps. Once your water breaks it is always imperative to go to the hospital because there is less fluid protecting the baby, a risk of infection and a need to deliver within 24 to 48hours. If your water breaks before you have contractions, your doctor will most oikely induce unless you can speed labor on your own through walking and other natural techniques..they also try to do less examinations to avoid infections. I hope that helps!
