3cm, 60% effaced. advice?

Need help! Having contractions every about 5-8 minutes

A soon as my contractions were 3-5 min apart I had my baby within a half hour. Call your dr and go to the hospital to be checked.

I would definitely call your doctor.. like now! I personally would want to be at the hospital if I'm having contractions 5-8 minutes apart. I'm sure your also completely effaced now if your contractions are that close.

There's no reason to run to the hospital once labor starts, most woman labor for an average of 16 hours and some a lot longer. My doctors advice was to head into the hospital at 3-1-1, contractions every 3 minutes, lasting for 1 minute long for atleast an hour. 8 minutes apart is still quite early, your much better off to labor in the comfort and privacy of your own home. I understand it's exciting and all but heading to the hospital early increases your chances significantly for interventions. Stay at home, have a bath/shower, watch a movie, whatever makes you comfortable.
