Bad experience horrible day :(
So today I had my ultrasound for 21 weeks my husband and I were very excited because we were told that this would be the ultrasound that would would tell us the sex of the baby. It started off normal as usual I went in the room first as like my other ultrasound I figured my husband would be invited in shortly after just like before but one hour past the whole time the technician didn't say a word to me unless I spoke she was very unfriendly and stuck up! I felt so uncomfortable I asked again for her to go get my husband and she denied my request and she continued to ignore me and not talk back to me when I talked I was getting more and more upset I just wanted my husband to be in the room with me so I requested for her to retrieve my husband again she finally went to go get him after 1 hour and 45 minutes I guess my husband got inpatient and went out for a smoke the front desk girl was surpose to tell him when he got back to come in back and that also didn't happen... so the technician came back and continued my ultrasound this time she was very rough and pushed so hard on my stomach it caused me pain I told her she was hurting me and he said it was needed to see the baby better even after I told her it caused me pain and discomfort then she started to tap on my stomach with force to get he baby to change postions I did not feel comfortable her hitting me with the wand. I also was told from this ***** that she couldn't tell me the sex because they just passed this policy 2 days ago but that's not what I was told so that was upsetting.To top it all off I asked for if I could see the baby she gave me a 2 minute viewing if that didn't take her time showing me nothing nor was my husband invited in the room then she had the nerve to hand me one photo of my ultrasound? ? I asked her for more but again their was no effort put into it at all she was a complete stuck up young unprofessional worst technician I had it ruined my day and my husband's he didn't get it see anything at all ...I filed a complaint on her after this horrible experience and the harm she caused to the side of my stomach..just a flat out bad day
I love all your comments it was pretty ****** experience especially that my husband didn't see nothing he was very upset. I think it's crazy now a days that you aren't the first one to lay eyes on your baby a stranger is and the fact that I begged to have my husband in the room and I was denied that was just wrong! I am just waiting for a call from my doctor to let her know I am not going back there ever and I will be telling other moms about it
That's awful! I'm sorry you had to go through that. That lady is a b*tch. I would've been so mad.

Omg. I would totally call up there again and make sure they know you are serious and you mean business becuase sometimes one call just aint enough. I would adk yo talk to het boss's boss!! How dare her treat you like that and my god you were in there forever. Ultrasounds are very precious for us. That is just awful. She should be fired!!
I'm so sorry that happened to you! You had every right to report her. If you have any pain I would go to another doctor or the ER. If she harmed the baby I would sue that technician. I would go to another doctor from now on if you don't hear anything back from your report. I hope your angel is ok.

I understand, I am having my first baby too in February and if anything were to happen due to someone else's negligence I would be completely traumatized and suing the pants off them! Thanks and congrats on your little angel as well I hope everything goes beautifully for you from now on!
Me too otherwise if she did harm baby she and the clinic are getting sued I swear this would cause me irreversible damage
Thanks girl I did talk to my husband and he doesn't want me going back to that Centre because the was they treated us the first one I went to they were amazing so I am going to talk to my doctor tomorrow and she what she says thanks so much emitch good luck to you and your soon to be angel xo
And also yes if it still hurts tomorrow definitely go to hospital and get checked out, if she hurt baby in any way by pressing on it she could be in a lot more hot water than just her rudeness has landed her in. I hope she didn't though, that would be awful.
I completely agree with you. There are plenty of people who have paid good money to go to school for that kind of thing that care a lot more about their job and helping people than this nitwit obviously does. In my area, though, a lot of colleges are what are referred to as 'nursing farms' where they go to school for idk probably 18 months and then they are shipped off to any random job that will take them. This particular tech could have been an intern, and I am glad that her supervisor has agreed to give you another ultrasound. :)
If the side of my stomach still hurts tomorrow I am heading up to the hospital it still feels tender to the touch

Awe thanks guys I thought to myself I was being out of line and rude lol felt bad for reporting her I think they should have older more experienced techs not young stuck up little girls who just walked out of class !! Not fair it ruined day and my husband's especially this being our first kid I am getting another ultrasound done from the supervisor so I really hope this experience goes better also for my husband being pregnant you are so emotional anything sets you off especially women like this tech you think she would have a brain and be more sensitive understanding and friendly for that matter wow she needs to get another job that she can actually do and be good at
Oh my gosh, honey, that is absolutely AWFUL!! I can't believe she would be so inconsiderate of your comfort and then not wanting to go get your husband is RIDICULOUS!! The only reason my husband wants to go to appts with me is to hear baby's heartbeat/see baby on ultrasound and for them to not even consider that is horrible unprofessional practice in my book. I Hope they do something about this absolutely rude woman since you did file a complaint! I'm so sorry this happened to you and your husband and I really hope next time goes better for you.
