Can I ask for a c section?

Went to my 22 week midwife appointment where she told me my little girl was feeling big and is worried so sending me for a growth scan before 28 weeks. She's more concerned as first baby was 11lb 1oz which led to a very traumatic birth and second was 9lb 4oz and he also got stuck. If they confirm she's big at scan can I ask for a c section as I don't want to out me or baby through that trauma again. Any advice or help would be appreciated x

They might deem it medically necessary.  Let the doc be your guide.

No. Usually it's medically necessary only or of you have had one before. But I'd stick to vaginal birth. The healing time and process is sooo much better than having open surgery and it's more benefits like breastfeeding asap skin to skin etc.

Unless as she stated it causes other problems during a natural birth because of the size of baby versus the size of mother that can actually cause a lot of problems..
While people will argue that natural birth is better that doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be what's going to be done.

I'm in Arkansas and my doctor asked if I wanted C-Section and actually asked if I wanted to have my baby before August 1st which is my due date and the cut off for kindergarten is July 31st...  I thought it was crazy that someone would have their baby early due to kindergarten...

Thanks!I am glad someone else knows why I will be asking for a section because they trauma is terrible I would rather my body take a while longer to heal than my mind and it stopped me bonding with my first for a while. X

My first baby was 9lbs 8oz and got stuck. We had to do an emergency c-section and it was very tramatic for both of us. This time as soon as I found out I was pregnant I told the docs that I wanted a c-section. Not worth putting me or my baby through that kind of trauma again. I am in the states though so we can definitely ask. It's woman's choice here. I hope it all works out for you!

I would like a natural birth it leads to complications where my child end off suffering and so do I. I either get cut from foof to bum and forceps or cut 4 different ways then failed suction cup and then forceps with my baby taken away as needed help breathing and help as he was nearly dying from suffer cation from been trapped for too long. That's worse then a c section.

I am a nurse I work for my obgyn I live in the states... And unless you are not able to ask because of other reasons... Yes you are able to ask for a C-section... My doctor told me that she has women come in and ask for csections just because they are afraid of ripping or their vagaygay getting stretched and not going back the way it was ( smh lack of education)... But yes you can ask... And nine times out of ten they will do it in the states... By the way I'm 28w 3d with #2 and my doctor tells me I work for you... Congrats I pray you have a safe, healthy, quick delivery!

It doesn't hurt to ask.
But I doubt they will give one to you unless medically necessary.
