Classical music for infants/ toddlers?

Any moms out there who plan to, or have played classical music for their children? What are your thoughts or outcomes of doing so? With my son, I found that if I played classical music for him he was much calmer. His favorite was Mozart. (or so it appeared). I'm currently sitting with headphones on my belly playing some for baby number two <3

My mom did it to me when I would wiggle and move too much and keep her awake late at night.  I plan on playing different music for my baby as well as read books and poems.

I think it helps comfort them alot too. I play baby Einstein c for my son at night since he was a couple months old. He is 3 now and had an accident and we spent 3 nights in the hospital.  Once I started playing some classical music for him he was so much calmer and not as freaked out being somewhere weird.

I'm not sure about this but u would think that things the hear and get used to in the womb or if u can tell it calms them now would be something that would soothe them or they would enjoy listening to once they r born

I play Charlie brown Christmas music for my baby and he seems to like it. He kicks the phone on my belly.

Yea my first born loved it. Not only is it good for development but it can help calm them as well :) I used to have a baby Einstein's Cd that had classical music on it but I no longer have it and I don't know where to get it!

I play classical music for my baby...and will do it when she is born as well. It's good for cognitive development.
I did it for my first pregnancy and first born. So I'll do it again this time around.

Do it! It may not do anything to the brain but they will recognize the song and tell them who the composer is. They will at least know the song and who wrote it. My son is 3 and can name a few. So in the end its a learning benefit!

Haha I'm not alone! I feel like it's really important to expose children to music at an early age. :) this baby seems to enjoy Beethoven

And yes I know that the Mozart effect was proven bogus. Just wondering if anyone does it anyways. Either way music is beneficial :-)
