Well I told him that she is gonna have to pay for it cause I'm not about to waste money getting it done when I know he's the father plus she's acting childish by saying I still live at home with my mom and that he needs to move on with someone else I mean I know I'm 20 but I just don't won't to jump out there on my own yet until I'm stable enough to take care of her! His mom just mad cause I won't kiss her butt and do everything she wants me to do

Laur23,  I wasn't talking about the baby's name. They add the father's name to the birth certificate. If you want to change the baby's original name you have to petition for it.

That's not true my fiance had to get a dna test through court and it came back positive and he literally after three Years had to take her to court for the last name and we are also in pa. The system is a joke I hate family court lol. he also has had full custody since he was one and they made him hiphen the last name...

Sorry, I was cut off...
He will be charged for the testing.  If he is not the father, he will not be charged.
If you are living together, you cannot take him for child support. Therefore, no testing will be done by the courts. You would have to pay out of pocket.

I'm in Pennsylvania. Here, if you bring a child support case against a man, he can show up and request a DNA test. All 3 of you will be scheduled to show up at the lab and present I.D. If the test determines he is the father, his name will be automatically added to the birth certificate and child support will be ordered.  That man will then becharged for

If welfare does it and it comes back that he is the father he will have to pay for it and they will put him on child support, if he's not the father u would pay.

SN: if he signs her birth certificate he will be put on child support too, but that may only apply if ur getting assistance of any kind from welfare.

Welfare will pay for it if you are planning to put him on child support. Buy the do it your self DNA kit and mail it off. Prices range $350-$500.00 depending on where you live.

U can buy the dna mouth swab kit at the drug store and its like $35 and then u pay lab fees and they were between $200-$300. My daughters father wanted one so I told him he was either going to buy one out of pocket or child support office would send him a request for one cause I knew who the father was. Guess who was 95.9% he was

Check with your department of social services, they may offer it free there if you are not married
