Hard to save money! :(

all day I've just been thinking about my baby. since I found out I was pregnant I was trying my hardest to save money even though it was extremely complicated. helping my mom pay rent, phone bill, personal needs, things for the house. it's hard cuz I'm the only one working because my mom and my sister are full time students so they have no time to work. I feel horrible that my son will be here in about 2 months and I don't have as much as I should. it hurts because I was almost close to $1,000 at least and I'm confused because money go so quick. I think God that I just start shopping in the very beginning of my pregnancy because I didn't want to wait or waste any time because I just wanted and to come into the world with something. so far he has a lot of clothes is good on diapers he has blankets his stroller and has tub but he's always going to need things so as a mother I don't feel at peace.

Okay, well... Do you have any friends willing to help throw a shower for you? My friends have taken care of that for me thankfully. It really doesn't have to cost much either if you or family had to throw it.

I asked my friends to keep their costs down as much as possible and that I'm fine with them getting the supplies and everything from the dollar store. I'm making the sweets for it which doesn't cost much either.

Maybe if your little sister or friend could help with making easy simple things, you could have a baby shower on the cheap too.

Try purchasing some items via a Thrift Store...you can also google search for pregnancy agencies near you they will help with bottles, clothing etc...Call your local social services as they will buy a crib for the baby to prevent you from sleepinh in the same bed...Say you want a family advocate. They helped me greatly and local churches are a hige help too. Congrats on the baby and good job on preparing and still working

My mom gets money for her back from hurting herself on the job so we go half on rent but she gets it once a month and with that she does the best she can and she rlly only has my 14 year old sister to care for. With the money she gets we go half on rent and everyone n my family is waiting until my son comes to get the baby stuff. Like when I have my baby shower which I'm not sure if I'm even gonna have one smh.

Just apply now hun. You're in a household of three, and I think they might count baby too, and supporting all of them. You'll get help quick I'm sure.

Honestly, your sister and mom need to start working too or get out. You're amazing for supporting them, but seriously, they're sponging of off you it seems. Maybe they're helping a bit with their financial aid/ grant for school, but I don't know your while situation.

Even with help, how long will that $1000 you saved go? What's going to happen when the baby comes? It won't go far, they really need to help you by working something at least part time.

Yeah...food stamps and WIC will help. Im in nursing school right now and have a full time job and 6 weeks pregnant. I believe someone can at least get a part time job.

I suggest applying now for medicare if you don't have one also because you do not want to be slammed with surprise medical bills. I did that just in case my work insurance doesn't cover all laboring cost. A had a friend who was slammed with $4k of medical expense because her husband's insurance covered only a small fraction. Pregnant women are highly prioritized. Your case will be expedite and it can give you a peace of mind without worrying about medical debts.

You don't have to go on maternity leave to get wic & public assistance. I am a student with two part time jobs. Its based on your income and qualifications. If you are making below an annual income that is set you will receive minimal assistance which helps out big on other small bills until you get more hours or so. You just have to send a monthly income report to your social worker to determine eligibility monthly. As for Wic, once you are approve you will receive service until your baby is 5 years of age or you no longer need the service.

Idk, when I was pregnant with my first I went to school full time and worked full time and graduated sum *** laude worn 3 . 95 GPA. But you can go on assistance, wic, get housing. There are even places like easter seals that can help short term.

That's awful. And quite frankly being a full time student is no excuse especially with you being pregnant. When I was in school full time I also worked full time and did well.

Are you getting any government assistance?
