Ya heating pads are fine. I just wouldnt put it right on ur belly. Hot tubs temp never drops and its very hot so u and baby can overheat.

Hot tubs can also cause miscarriage in early pregnancy cuz your body isn't supposed to get too hot. My friend lost her baby that way and the doctor described it as the same as a very high fever and baby can't stand or cope with that so basically got over heated and died

Hot tubs can also cause blood clots which are obviously not good pregnant or not. Heating pads are harmless, though. I mean, dont put it on high and sit it on your stomach but for your back a heating pad is fine. And works wonders.

The hot tubs is because it can raise your body temp high and it's already abit higher than average while pregnant to help bub regulate heat, don't quote me but just off what I can put together also over heating would make you sweat alot more leading to dehydration and that's definitely not good. The heating pads though I thought you could use them? For aching back or muscles etc... haven't heard that one but the hot tub is probably not a good idea due to the heating of your body.

I was told to not stay in hot tubs for more that 15 minutes, and heating pads were fine until it effects your temperature and makes you hot

With hot tubs my book says they are bad because it can cause your body temp to increase which can cause growth problems for your baby. They also say hot tubs are bad because the heat can decrease your blood pressure. I don't know about heating pads though. I use a heating pad occasionally on my back but not for long periods of time.
